മലയാളസിനിമയുടെ കഥ പറയുന്ന കമല്* ചിത്രം 'സെല്ലുലോയ്ഡ്' സെപ്തംബര്* അവസാന വാരം തീയേറ്ററുകളിലെത്തുമെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്*ട്ട്. ആദ്യ മലയാള സിനിമയായ വിഗതകുമാരന്* ഒരുക്കിയ ജെ സി ഡാനിയലിന്റെ കഥ പറയുന്ന ചിത്രത്തില്* പൃഥ്വിരാജാണ് നായകന്*.
പൃഥ്വിയുടെ ഡേറ്റ് ക്ലാഷ് മൂലം കമല്* ചിത്രം വൈകിയേക്കുമെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്*ട്ടുകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അതിനാല്* ഫഹദിനെ നായകനാക്കി മറ്റൊരു ചിത്രം ഒരുക്കാന്* കമല്* ആലോചിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന തരത്തിലായിരുന്നു വാര്*ത്തകള്*. എന്നാല്* പൃഥ്വി ചിത്രം പൂര്*ത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം മാത്രമേ ഇതെ കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കുവെന്നാണ് കമല്* പറയുന്നത്. ഫഹദിനെ തന്റെ അടുത്ത ചിത്രത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് കാസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യാന്* പദ്ധതിയുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്* സെല്ലുലോയ്ഡ് പൂര്*ത്തിയായതിന് ശേഷം മാത്രമേ അതെ കുറിച്ച് ആലോചിക്കൂ-കമല്* പറയുന്നു.
ജെ സി ഡാനിയലിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ ജാനറ്റിനെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് സംവൃത സുനിലും ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാവുന്നു. ഡാനിയല്* ചരിത്രത്തിലും ജീവിതത്തിലും തിരസ്*ക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് എങ്ങനെയെന്ന് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന സെല്ലുലോയിഡ് ചേലങ്ങാടു ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണനെന്ന ജീവചരിത്രകാരനിലൂടെയാണ് കഥ പറയുന്നത്. ശ്രീനിവാസനാണ് ഈ കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ ചരിത്രം തന്നെ പശ്ചാത്തലമാക്കി ഒരുങ്ങുന്ന സെല്ലുലോയിഡ് ഒരുക്കുന്നത്. 1925-30 കാലഘട്ടമാണ് പ്രേക്ഷകര്*ക്ക് മുന്നിലെത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
