Jagathy snubs Asif Ali

During his recent interview to a prominent Malayalam TV channel, actor Jagathy Sreekumar has made some controversial remarks on young hero, Asif Ali.

Responding to Asif’s statement that he would like to become an actor like Jagathy and he never carries a mobile phone with him like the senior actor, Jagathy said that “not carrying a mobile phone will not make him a better actor. I have seen him performing in some films and he needs to improve a lot.”

Jagathy is known for such controversial remarks and there was a recent issue when he openly criticized anchor Ranjini Haridas during an award function.

Ranjini was also present at the function and though she smiled hearing the remarks during the event, she lashed out at the actor in some articles later.

Asif has been touted as the next best thing by the media, but the actor has never really performed in a stature befitting a real talent.

His solo hero project, Violin, directed by Siby Malayil was a dud at the box office and he had to prove his merits with his latest thriller, Asuravithu.

But the film has turned out to be a really bad one and Asif’s performance in the film has been given a thumb down by virtually everyone.

SRK to attend 'Don 2' screening at Berlinale

New Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) Shah Rukh Khan fans in Germany are in for a treat. The actor's latest release "Don 2: The King Is Back" will be screened at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, to be held Feb 9-19, and he will attend the event also.
Also, the movie, produced by Excel Entertainment, will have its mainstream theatrical release with a dubbed version in German.
Shah Rukh, along with his co-star Priyanka Chopra, director Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani, will attend the screening, scheduled at the Friedrichstadt-Palast theatre Feb 11 at 9.30 p.m.
"It is an honour and a privilege for us to have our movie screened on an international platform. It had been our resolution to deliver good cinema, and we are delighted that our work is appreciated by cinema lovers worldwide," Sidhwani said in a press statement.
The team is also expected to hold a press conference, which can only be accessed by journalists accredited by the Berlinale.
Besides the German release Feb 16, the film will also hit theatres in Russia, Turkey, Israel, France, China and Korea.
