    The name of Hristo Stoichkov....and the free-kick against Germany in 1994 World Cup quarter-final comes to my memory. A beauty of a strike. Germany were up by a goal through a Matthaeus penalty. Somewhere in second half, Bulgaria gets a free-kick somewhat 35 yards from the goal. The great German team stands as a wall with Bodo Illgner guarding the fort. Stoichkov slams a twirler into the net. Germany was stunned. The whole world was stunned. Within minutes, the partially bald Letchkov heads in a second and the defending champions were out of the tournament. One of my all-time fav goals.
