Arike starts off in the usual off beat style . slow pace , arty over tone ulla scenes ,
samayam eduthu establish cheyaa pedunna characters .

first kuzhapam illa enna levelil maatre thoniyollu . pala scenes scattered aye kidakunnu .
disappointed akuvo ennu shankichu but second half ....loved it ..!!



Characters and aavarude prashnagal ellam nalla feel undakki . they start growing on u and a connect is felt .
more than engaging …valare rasichu kadhapatragalku oppam move cheyan thudanghi ee bhagathu.

Shanthanu(dileep) n kalpana (samvrutha)are madly in love .
kalpanyude best friend anu radha(mamta) iavare sahayikunathum avarude pranayathinte anthiyavum(end) okke annu chitram .
Towards finale love enna emotion moonu individuals inte perspectiveil ..avarude lifeil engane athu undakunnu …
how they look into it and what does it mean to them ennu okke kanikunathu … that was the defining moment of arike ..
extremely mature and fantabulous ..!!..oru open end koduthu ..yaathoru conclusionil ethikatha climax … super duper ..!!



Shayamaprasad pathivu pole characters ine mould cheyunathil annu koodthal sredha
koduthu irikunathu …. So apart from the leads , chitra iyer , guruji role cheytha nadan, innocent ,
urmila unni ennivarude roleukalum noticeable ayyi … relationships ine mun cinemakal pole nalla mature aye
kaikaariyam cheythitundu .



Dileep was fine ..initially kurachu odd aye thonni enilum kolam .
mamta has a substantial role ..very individualistic ..nannayi cheythu ..but it was the
much under rated samvrutha who came up with the most delightful performance .
it’s a signature act and she has given a extra edge to the role making it stand out .



Eduthu parayende oru kaariyam brilliantly used sync sound recording annu ..
..actors inte minute voice vare nalla clarityode kepikundu …it was refreshing to hear
some unpolished BG sound ..appo anu ithu sync anu ello ennu orthathu ..


Edaku varunna oh judhaa mazhayil enna BGM kidu ..also mamta paadiya paatu .
cinematography fit well into the mood of the film


On down side ...considering the passion they had ... some absorbing chemistry between dileep n samvrutha
wouldn’t have hurt in first half romantic scenes ..Also oru short story adaptation ayathu kondu akam
chila scenes more than cinematic naadakiyatha annu …bookil ullathu athu pole thonipichu chila idathu though I haven’t read the book.

Overall i enjoyed a lot .... it's slow , kurachu okke bujism keri
varundu but continous ayye kore new gen cinemakal kanunathinu idayil
oru relaxed cinema kanunna sugam undu .

Box office - Arike might not rake the moola at ticket counters but it is a
addition to the looong list of good cinema dished out in kerala these days .
