Anoop Menon and Jayasurya to team up again - Times Of India
The winning combination of Anoop Menon and Jayasurya will team up yet again ¡ª this time, for 'Pushpakavimaanam', which will be their fifth film together this year. The film will be scripted by Anoop himself.
Incidentally, the film was announced last year after the duo's runaway success Beautiful, and was supposed to be directed by V K Prakash. With the director opting to helm Trivandrum Lodge, Aji John will now direct Pushpakavimaanam.
The flick, which Anoop describes as 'Trivandrum Lodge in a flight', will have most of the cast from the movie, including Saiju Kurup and Arun. It will also have Babu Antony in a prominent role. "It'll be a fun ride. We're thinking of giving it a tagline ¡ª flight, fun and frolic," says Anoop, who is currently shooting for B Unnikrishnan's I Love Me in Kochi.
While Trivandrum Lodge has received flak for its raunchy dialogues, we ask Anoop, who had also scripted the flick, if Pushpakavimaanam would be more family friendly. "I don't think Trivandrum Lodge should be criticised for its raunchy element as it's no way near some of the Hindi item songs and films like Delhi Belly, which our audience have watched and lauded," he says, adding that it could be Jayasurya's character Abdu, an insecure sex-starved youth, that would have unsettled the audience.
He also disputes that it was not a family friendly movie. "In fact, it is a commercial hit and that's because the theatres are seeing an increasing number of family audience; and not just the youngsters," he says.
