Fisherman's Review of Karmayodha

Dec 21, 9:45 AM Show.
EKM - Cinemax
Status: HF

The movie had generated lot of interest due to the stills and trailor that came out. It was touted as an answer to Big B which has been haunting lot of people due to stupendous performance as a tough guy. The stills and trailor did give an expectation towards that too, only negative being Major Ravi.

The film has a good subject and would say an average screen play which is executed okay. It also showcases the innovative ways in which Flesh trade is now happening in India. When several people told here that the film is being taken by people who know film making and not Major Ravi, I did not believe the same. Seeing the movie I think that is True. Direction is much better compared to Kandahar.

The biggest drawback of the film is the overdose of English dialogues. The English dialogues falls flat on viewer's face due to the issue with dialogues and the failure in rendering the dialogues properly. The Mad Maddy, I kill people dialogues evokes laughter than the punch it should create. The other drawback is there is not even a single commando operation with heavy action. All that is there is Mad Maddy shooting in the so called style and then smoking cigar and drinking in between to create tough look.

To a big surprise Major's brother and Binish does not irritate us. Another good thing is that Lal is coming in a role with lot of heroism, looks and mannerisms which could be a treat for his fans. The interval twist and climax senti scenes are good and are the only thing which I liked.

Positives
Story
Okay Direction
Okay Screenplay
Heroism which could be a treat for Lal Fans
Interval twist
Climax Senti Scenes

Negatives
Dialogue Delivery especially rendering of English dialogues
Lack of toughness in the presentation which is very much required for the central character
Lack of any good action or commando operation. Mad Maddy just walks in and arrests anybody he wants with a gun so easily

Scenes which I liked the most
Interval Scene
Climax when the girl is saved.

Crowd Response
Heavy claps when Lal's sound came in the beginning for Anti Smoking.
Good claps when Chachaji was shot and good claps for Major's brother.
Good laughs for Mad Maddy and I kill people dialogue

Rating - 2.5/5

Final Word - An average movie which does not get you bored not get you engaged much. But 10 times better than Kandahar. Will be liked by Fans.

Vaalkashanam - Big B will still continue to haunt many for the tough guy performance Major pradeeksha thettichu pakshe Lal pradeeksha thettickaadhe tough guy-ye kulamaakki.
