Alisha Mohammed is Mammootty's new heroine
Alisha Mohammed will make her M-Town debut with Ranjith's Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty, where she'll play superstar Mammootty's ex-flame.
The RJ-turned-actress plays a school teacher, while Mammootty dons the role of a Germany-based NRI in the film. Alisha, who will sport a village belle look in the film, says, "My character, Rosy, is a school teacher in a rural area in Kerala. She is also Mammootty's ex-flame."
It was the superstar himself who introduced Alisha to Ranjith. "Mammootty spotted me at two award functions where I was the anchor. I met him once after one of the shows. Later, he referred me to Ranjith," she says excitedly. "I did not have to go through any auditions. We had a five-minute conversation wherein the director briefed me about the project. I received his confirmation in a few days," she adds.
Interestingly, the movie will also have superstar Mohanlal and Dileep in cameo roles. "I'm lucky to be part of a project which sees three of the biggest stars of Mollywood team up with a hitmaker director," says Alisha.
