Watched the tribute to Indian cinema by 5 young directors. I was impressed by one or two, satisfied with some other but disappointed with one.Let me come to the details
Sethulakshmi by Shyju Khalid
The short story by M. Mukundan is well conceived by Shyju Khalid. The two child artists were awesome. Hats off
. The film reminds us that women at any age at any time period is not safe in our society and leave us in agony with the climax.
Isha by Sameer Thahir
By far the entertainer among the five. Nivin Pauly and Isha did their best to give what the story demanded. Good climax and nice BGM made it impressive.
Gouri by Aashiq Abu
The worst of the lot. Utter nonsense story and blind casting makes the film horrible. Actually I couldn't understand what Aashiq was trying to convey.
Kullante Bharya by Amal Neerad
No words to say....Amazingly wonderful. Superb narration by Dulquer Salman and the artists were apt to do each roles. Most of them had no dialogues but they conveyed the story with out any barriers. Nice camera work and terrific BGM adds to the credits. The climax leaves us in a bit of painful joy (The joy of watching a memorable film)
Aami by Anwar Rasheed
Awsome performance by Fahad and the message conveyed are the positives of this one. camera work is also good.
In short :5 Sundarikal" is a mixed bag with good and rotten eggs. If you really enjoys the different attempts, just have a go
Box office verdict: Flop
My rating: (3+2.5+1.5+4.5+2.5) = 5.6/10
