Friday Matinee - Ring Master is the Master at Vishu

The ghost returns, it is not a title to a new movie but the ghost of ban which died about two years ago in Mollywood again surface shaking entire industry to a imminent standstill. The ego clash of famous Liberty Bahseer with director B Unnikrishnan culminates in to ban of Mr Fraud , the eagerly awaited a movie of the season. It seems instead of negotiation it’s going to be all out war. The ultimate loser is the producers who have invested crores on different projects. Theater owners will survive by showing Bollywood to Hollwood reels. Sane voices are the need of the time. Cinema is a product of hundreds of people effort; don’t undermine the value of human dedications for petty personal issues. The Mollywood was suffering from series of flops and was recovering after reasonable Vishu. Several movies released this week showing the confidence but the ‘ban ‘controversy set to put up stumbling block to the present tide.
Mollywood produced an anti climax to the Vishu fireworks at box office. Ring master over takes the 7th day in an interesting battle in the third week! Something like recounting winner in an election. The family audience support proved vital for the Dilleep film over the Prithiviraj.
Ringmaster crosses the 8.25 crore mark in 19 days with 6,000 shows. It had minimal removal due to the growing acceptability among the families for it. Dileep who missed Christmas number one regain another festival spot.
7th day due to its lesser entertainment masala failed to hold on the semi urban areas. The film faced removal of around 20 screens which diminished its prospects at the box office number one spot. Collects around 7.90 crore in 19 days with 5,600 shows.
Samasaram Aragyothinu hanikaram is a failure in Kerala while its Tamil version somewhat placed at a better position. Balaji Mohan gets good pat from the Tamil reviews but get slap from the audience from Kerala. Another flop for Dulquar, Collects around 1 crore in 6 days.
Paulytechnic is an an average earner with no chance of hit status. Kunchako Boban stakes his claims in another film Law point which released yesterday with mixed WOM. Law point was widely expected to clinch another hit in box office but initial reports suggest otherwise.
Those who were asking for Drishyam update , the biggest blockbuster of Mollywood has not left the release centers even after celebrating 130 days and has 26,350 shows in credit with 40.50 crores in its kitty.

Mosayille Kuthirameenukkal : Asif Ali – Sunnywane team gets better WOM among the this week release. It is rated as best visual treat of recent times. Directed by Ajith Pillai. Released in 50 plus screens
Ulsaha Committee: Jayaram, who has been under severe stress of flops tries a comedy track to stay in the box office. Directed by Aku Abar and it has widest release in around 80 plus in screen in Kerala. Initial report of average WOM.
