Saw Mam - Renjith combo's latest flick Kadal Kadannoru Maathukutty with my extended family.

After Praanchiyettan Mam - Renjith combo has set a very high standard in the mindset of viewers. With Indian Rupee
following after that, Renjith repeated his brilliance. After that we saw the movie maker in Renjith starting his
downward trend with making Thattikootu films in short period which continues in Maathukutty.
With a wafer thin story line Renjith has made the film Maathukutty. The film entertains in parts and touches your
heart in parts. But fails to give that Renjith touch which we expect and is no where near the standards set after
Praanchiyettan.

Hope Renjith will spend some time and prepare his next script instead of doing films in short interval just looking
@ the money. The film would make everybody involved happy with making lot of profits. Only viewers will be left sad
seeeing the movie

Mam in his usual charm has done his job beautifully and is a treat to watch. But if you ask do you really need
Mammooty to play this role ? The answer would be NO from viewers part, but it could be YES from Producers part,
otherwise they cannot get this much satellite right.

1st half of the movie is better compared to the 2nd half with some entertaining moments and @ the same time we feel
sorry for Maathukutty the jobless husband and the attittude of his wife and kids to him. People like me very well
know how wifes are even when we have well paid job So, can imagine the state of Maathukutty. Mam has brought
that feelings live on screen brilliantly. His scenes with Mohanlal, Mammotty and Dileep are also good.
Overall it is a watchable flick from the standpoint of a simple family movie. That is it. If you are looking for
some stupendous performance from Mammotty or a Renjith movie like Pranchiyettan or Indian Rupee you would be
dissappointed.

Positives
Mam's performance as jobless husband.
Simple family movie without any double meaning dialogues

Negatives
Heroine who played Mathukutty old lady love.
Lagging and boring in many parts.

Crowd Response
Laughters in the 1st half. Pretty cold during 2nd half. I am sure in main theaters the lengthy climax would be
getting Koovals.

Rating - 2.5 / 5 - Only for Mam's portrayl of helpless jobless husband and for being a neat movie to watch with
family.

Final Word
Watchable once if you love simple family movies. Avoidable if you are a fan of Renjith movies like
Praanchi and Indian Rupee and avoidable if you are a fan of Mam's performance in Praanchi.

Watched Vijay's latest flick Thalaiva amidst an Electrifying crowd today @ EKM Kavitha. It is a Vijay show
throughout. Another movie with regular formula of Vijay masala movie - Concentrate of lighter moments and comedy
involving a love track in the 1st half and then towards interval change to movie with punch, heroism and lot of
action. The surprising fact though is that Vijay can still churn out hits sticking to this formula and people enjoy
watching him again and again in this formula films.

I got little late and hence missed the introduction. Thought the movie was @ 8:30 and hence reached only by that
time. The movie is inspired a lot from Sarkar, I was expecting it to be a remake of Telugu flick Leader which was
an awesome movie.

The 1st half was okay with the love track and associated comedies and with good one liners. Towards the interval
the movie took and U-turn and the interval puch will leave viewers spell bound. @ Interval most of the viewers only
has one opinion "WOW", thank to that strong interval punch and twist. 2nd Half the movie goes into the usual
heroism and masala in Mumbai streets which we have seen in umpteen movies. Still there are some operations which
makes you thrilled and are well executed.

It is a well directed flick within the usual set up of Vijay's Masala movies.

Positives
Of course Vijay, Vijay, Vijay...
Well executed action sequences and some punch operations.
Awesome Interval twist and punch.

Negatives
Love Track was lengthy.
2nd Half is usual Hero - Villain fights with nothing new.
Nothing new in the story line.

Crowd Response - Superb. The movie hall was completely dancing for the Bhangu song. It could be because it was a
Fans show.

Rating - 3/5.

Final Word - Go for it if you are a fan of Vijay's Mass Masala movies.
