Artist : A Performance oriented movie with an untold story.

After the movie 'English', Shyamaprasad is back with his next movie 'Artist'. This time he joins hands with our New Generation Hero Fahad Fazil, and Ann Augustine. Shyamaprasad takes us to the world of paintings through this flick.

Synopsis: The story revolves around two main people - Michel & Gayathri. Michel is basically an artist. Michel met Gayathri when he was studying in arts college and they fall in love each other. Then Michel decides to drop his course in college and to concentrate only on his paintings. Gayathri & Michel got into a live - in relationship. Gayathri got a BPO job. Michel was not ready for trying out any job. He leads an unconventional and self - centered life. One day Michel met with an accident and he loses his sight. The series of incidents that occur after this forms the rest of the movie.

In the making side, Shyamaprasad did an excellent job in his direction as well as in the casting side. His direction was good enough to carry out the movie without any lag. All credits goes to this Master director Shyamaprasad. Coming to the scripting side, the movie had a refreshing theme and was convincing. The script had enough scenes to explain the true emotions of an Artist. Movie doesn't have any unwanted dialogues or scenes. Bgm by Bijipal got synced with the scenes well and is one of the main positives of the movie. Songs were nice which suits the situation. Cinematography was pleasing one.

Since this movie is a performance oriented one, casting side of this film is of great importance. And when coming to the acting side, Fahad was not just acting; he was living in his role of Michel in this movie. He delivered a splendid performance. In the female lead, Ann Augustine handled the role of Gayathri. She got a performance oriented role after her debut movie 'Elsamma enna Aankutty'. Her acting was so natural and had all emotions which demands for her role. Undoubtedly, I can say that this movie is the career best movie for Fahad and Ann. Supporting cast was also equally good.

Overall, Artist is a performance oriented movie. Recommended to all true movie lovers and all artists. Those who love only commercial flicks,please stay away from this flick.

Arikil Oraal - A thriller with refreshing theme


After the critically acclaimed movie 'Chapters', Sunil Ibrahim is back with his 2nd directorial venture 'Arikil Oraal' starring Nivin Pauly & Indrajith in the lead roles. I was eager to watch this Sunil Ibrahim's flick since I missed his 'Chapters' from Cinemas. Watched it today and I'm satisfied with this movie to some extend.


Synopsis: I'm not interested in giving a detailed review since that might spoil your mood while watching this flick. The story revolves around 3 people - Siddharth, Icha, and Veena. Siddharth who was working in an Advertising company in Bengaluru got transfer to their Cochin branch. He arrives at Kochi and he meets his girlfriend Veena. Since Siddharth didn't got an accomodation in Kochi, Veena arranges an accomodation for him to stay with her friend Icha. The series of mysterious events which occur after this forms the rest of the movie.

In the making side, Sunil Ibrahim tried his level best to make a convincing Thriller and he succeeds to some extend. Theme was a refreshing one. His direction and script keeps the viewers engaged throughout the movie. All the 3 songs were good especially the songs sung by Indrajith & Remya Nambeeshan. The movie had impressive Bgm and it got sync with the scenes. But on the negative side, Climax portion was highly predictable.


On the acting side, Nivin Pauly played the role as 'Icha'. Indrajith played the role of Siddharth and Remya Nambeeshan in the role of Veena. Nivin Pauly and Indrajith delivers a decent performance. Nivin Pauly got a variety role in this movie and he acted neatly. Indrajith did a convincing performance. Remya Nambeeshan didn't have much to do in this film eventhough she was there throughout. Other cast includes Pratap Pothan, Lena, Saira, Shalin etc. managed to do their part well.


Overall, Arikil Oraal is a thriller. Eventhough the movie's climax might be predictable, the refreshing theme of this movie makes this flick a one time watch.
