Atlee's Raja Rani tells the story of a unhappily married couple John (Arya) and Regina (Nayanthara). The flashback scene of Nayanthara forms the first half and that of Arya forms the second half. There is nothing new in the love story as we have many a times heard the story of the love of a girl towards a guys innocence and a guys love towards girls innocence. But what makes Raja Rani different from others is the outstanding visuals and a decent script which makes you break to laughter and wets your eyes at perfect times when boredom creeps to your mind.

First half of the movie as earlier said deals with the marriage of Arya and Nayanthara and the happenings in their unhappy lives which leads to the flashback scenes of Nayanthara. Here is where Surya (Jai) makes an entry to the screen and with his sheer innocence and comedies, makes the first half an easily enjoyable ride.

Second half focuses on the flashback story of Arya where Keerthana (Nazriya) makes her appearance as his lover. The second half is too enjoyable, with good BGM and comedies. Emotional scenes by Nazriya were too brilliant and could have made anyone's heart melt. And with an easily predictable climax with a twist attached to it, Raja Rani ends up as a good romantic movie which can be loved in every sense.

What's good: Direction, Cinematography, BGM, Art.

What's bad: Songs, Lengthy second half.

Performance wise, Arya and Jai came out good, but felt a bit too dramatic in the earlier half at times. Nayanthara is too good, but her facial expressions in emotional scenes gave a yuck feeling. Nazriya is cute and near apt for the role, but atleast for me, her pairing with Arya was not catchy. Sathyaraj, Santhanam and others gave out splendid performance as usual.

On the whole, Raja Rani deserves attention for its clean decent script, outstanding visuals, decent performance and for its making.. Go for it!!!
