Geethanjali- A wasted effort!!!

Saw the movie on release day from kanhangad vinayaka paradise...status was housefull..The film is brilliantly taken. Makers have succeeded in maintaining the horror mood throughout the film. The comedies tried out in the film has also come out well. The first song was good and is taken brilliantly. priyan touch is evident in the film. All these efforts were ruined in the climax. From the beginning of the film itself we doubt whether this would be the story line. I hoped that something different would be tried out esp since another movie with the same story has come in malayalam itself. Unfortunately same story has been retold. This is where the film fails. This is a film which should nt ve been made if this was the climax. Performance wise, new heroine has done her role very well. Actually I never liked menaka. But her daughter s way ahead cmpared to her both in looks and acting. Siddique n Innocent were also good in one or two comedy sequences. Mohanlal had nothing to do except in those two comic scenes. Dr. Sunny's character is a misfit in this story. We have to believe tat it has been included in the film only to create the hype. Altogether this s a film which has wasted an opportunity to successfully make a good horror film in malayalam. Those who have not watched Nadiya kollapetta rathri might like tis film....I would have given a 7/10 except for that climax.
