There was one scene where they could have taken it to another level. Mammootty facing his army and givin a motivational speech. That scene was a big let down for me. MT could have written a bit more powerful dialogues and Hariharan & Mammootty could have made it to more intense. Compare it to the scene in Troy where Brad Pitt gives a similar motivational speech. In Troy, you get goosebumps, here not really.

Nowhere I said it's bad. It's a great film, but being a Mammootty fan it didn't live upto my expectation. The character Pazhassi didn't have enough scope to perform. I wanted another classic role like Chanthu, I didn't get it and hence I was not satisfied. As simple as that.

It may still be the best film in 2000s, but still I wasn't happy with the film. I wouldn't have had any problem if I wasn't a Mammootty fan, I believe.

I really liked the characters of Edachena Kunkan &
Thalakkal Chanthu, but not Pazhassi. If it had a scene like the one I mentioned earlier (Troy), I would have been happy.

ഭാര്യ നഷ്ടപെട്ട മകളെ ജീവനു തുല്യം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന വാത്സല്യ നിധി ആയ ഒരച്ഛന്റെ കഥ പറഞ്ഞ ചിത്രം....ഈ ചിത്രം ശ്രീനിവാസൻ എഴുതിയത് മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്ന നടനെ മനസ്സിൽ കണ്ടു കൊണ്ടാണ്...കഥ പൂർത്തി ആക്കിയ ശ്രീനിവാസൻ കഥ കമൽനോട് പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കമലും പറഞ്ഞത് മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ പേരായിരുന്നു..കമലും ശ്രീനിയും അങ്ങനെ മമ്മൂട്ടിയോട് കഥ പറയുകയും മമ്മൂട്ടിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു...!!
പക്ഷെ ഇതെ കഥയുടെ മറ്റൊരു തലം ആയ ഭാര്യ നഷ്ടപെട്ട മകനു വേണ്ടി ജീവിക്കുന്ന സ്നേഹനിധി ആയ അച്ഛന്റെ കഥ പറയുന്ന പപ്പയുടെ സ്വന്തം അപ്പൂസിനായി ഫാസിലിന് വേണ്ടി മമ്മൂട്ടി നേരത്തെ ഡേറ്റ് നൽകിയ കാര്യം മമ്മൂട്ടി ഇരുവരോടുമായി പറഞ്ഞു...രണ്ടും ജനങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്ന മികച്ച തിരക്കഥകൾ ആണ്*...ഒരേ ടൈപ്പ് കഥാപാത്രം ഒരാള് തന്നെ ചെയ്താൽ ഇതിൽ രണ്ടാമത് ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പടം ഏതായാലും അത് വേണ്ടത്ര ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപെടില്ല...അത് കൊണ്ട് മറ്റാരെയെങ്കിലും കൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ഇത് ചെയ്യിക്ക് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മമ്മൂട്ടി സ്വയം ഒഴിഞ്ഞു മാറി... അങ്ങനെ ഈ കഥാപാത്രം മുരളിയിലേക്ക് എത്തി ചേർന്നു .

കഥ പറയാൻ ചെന്ന മമ്മൂട്ടിയുമായി ഡേറ്റിന്റെ പ്രശ്നം പറഞ്ഞു രഞ്ജി ഒന്നും രണ്ടും പറഞ്ഞു ഉടക്കായി.. അങ്ങനെ രഞ്ജി അവിടിന്നു ദേഷ്യപ്പെട്ടു ഇറങ്ങി പോയി.. രാത്രി മമ്മൂട്ടി രഞ്ജിയെ ഫോണിൽ വിളിച്ചു.. എന്നിട്ട് പറഞ്ഞു എട നിനക്ക് സങ്കടം ആയെന്നു എനിക്കറിയാം...എനിക്ക് ഡേറ്റ് ഇല്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ട് തന്ന ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് ചൂടായത്...അല്ലാതെ തന്റെ കഥ ഇഷ്ട പെടാത്ത കൊണ്ട് അല്ല...നീ ഒരു കാര്യം ചെയ്യ് ഈ സിനിമ എനിക്ക് വേണ്ടി നീട്ടി വെക്കേണ്ട.. നീ ആ സുരേഷ് ഗോപിയെ വെച്ച് ചെയ്യ്.... ധ്രുവത്തിലൊക്കെ അവൻ അതെ ടൈപ്പ് തന്നെ കഥാപാത്രം ചെയ്തതാ....അവൻ അത് ഭംഗി ആയി ചെയ്യും..നീ നോക്കിക്കോ ഇത് ഒരു വലിയ വിജയം ആയി മാറുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും...!!
അങ്ങനെ മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ നിർദ്ദേശ പ്രെകാരം പരുക്കനും ചൂടനുമായ ക്ഷോഭിക്കുന്ന പോലീസ് ഓഫീസർ ആയി സുരേഷ് ഗോപി മാധവൻ ആയി....!!
ഇവടെയാണ് മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്ന നടന്റെ അസാമാന്യ റേഞ്ച് നമുക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നത്...!!!
