Mammootty's 'Pathemari' to begin in October

Mammooty will begin the shoot of 'Pathemari' next month. The movie is being directed by Salim Ahmed. This is the second time that the duo are joining hands. Their first venture together was 'Kunjnanathante Kada', which was well received. 'Pathemari' is scheduled to being rolling on October 4th.
The feamle lead is yet to be announced. Others including Salim Kumar, Siddique, Joy Mathew et al are part of the venture. The movie will be shot at locations like Thrissur, Mumbai and Dubai.

Acclaimed director Dr. Biju's post about the Attapaddy dialogue in 'Peruchazhi' had stirred up quite a storm. He had implicated Mohanlal in the matter saying that as an actor of great stature, Mohanlal had the responsibility to refrain from uttering such dialogues. Biju further said that the movie could very well have done without the derogatory dialogue.
The director added that he stood by what he said and also that he would have reacted the same way, even if it was any other actor, including Mammootty. He clarified that his intention was not to target Mohanlal, but was simply to point out the way some people are marginalised in our society.

Just like the tag line of his latest film 'Rajadhiraja', Mammootty is having a sigh of relief after the release of the film. The movie which has opened up well in all centres has in fact ended the dearth of hits in the recent times from Mammootty camp. The only acknowledged hit of the star 'Immanuel' came back two years back.
Only films that worked well after this were 'Kammath and Kammath' and 'Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus' which just managed with a better initials and video and satellite rights. All other films from the star in the recent times were big flops and the last few didn't even managed to run to 25 days. The other releases of the year 'Silence', 'Balyakalasakhy' , 'Praise the Lord 'and 'Gangster' didn't even run a healthy two weeks in theatres which made many predict the doom of the megastar phenomenon in Mollywood.
Anyhow, the release of 'Munnariyippu' just before this Onam, completing 25 days this week, this movie has pulled back the megastar to commercial reckoning. And the latest by debutante director Ajai Vasudev' Rajadhiraja' is continuing in packed houses . The movie registered houseful shows in all the Onam days which will help the film to end up as commercial winner, first time for a Mammootty film in the last two years.
