nobody can guarantee the success of a movie, whether it is new director or old one. Success just happens. I do not blame mammootty for the selection of most of his movies. very few of them he had to do because of his friendship or other commitments. In the case of bp he selected the story out of three and as the industry was coming out of the pandemic they thought of doing a quickie and started shooting with available resources. The movie became a huge hit. coming to drisyam mammootty wanted to do the movie but because of his commitment to do another achayan movie ptl , in which he appear younger than and supposed to be funnier than drisyam he chose ptl to do immediately and do drisyam later in a year or so. and on the part of jeethu he was not a super director before drisyam. it is true most of his movies were successful not super duper hits like drisyam. if you listen to the story of drisyam it is not believable at all. but the way jeethu directed the movie made all the difference and the audience did not care about the story. mammootty fans were all praise for renjith after paleri and pranchi and he he was not able to give a hit for mammootty after pranchi. remember it is because of mammootty we have successful directors like amal, anwar and blessy to name a few. where the success and failure come you never know. So enjoy the success of bheeshma friends

May be the films were crap..... but you can see a different Ikka in all the movies and no resemblances.
Many of the movies he committed because of his friendship or for helping other like director/producer.

Mammookka has only himself to blame for selecting such a large number of crap movies in every sense.. There are more duds but I havent included coz atleast those films had something in it.. His movies lineup had been largely good since 2019 except during. brief period of Blog & Gandharvan.. Bheeshma is an apology from Mammookka and the fans and Malayalees have forgiven him..

He has started 2022 sith a bang.. Bheeshma parvam has become an ATBB already, Nanpakal nerathu mayakkam & Puzhu are going to release soon.. Hope he continues to excel in the coming years.. Mammookka, no more parippu vada please..

I believe Mammookka should only do two types of movies..

Class movies - where he can present his osm actinh skills such as perambu, munnariyipp, unda etc..

Entertainers - Mass action or comedy movies - but these movies should have good production values, technicians & supporting cast..

Ee oru category il allatha films aanu njan aa list il ittath.. Athil kodutha chila films def hit aanu.. such as puthiya niyamam, cleetus, bavutty, thappana etc.. but he had no business in acting those movies.. Athokke Mammookka ye poloru big star il ninnum expect cheyyunna films alla.. There are duds like Gangster & White whixh I didnt include, but those were good projects when announced, so we cant blame him acting in it..

2016 Puthiya Niyamam and Joppan we're avg grossers I think. Disaster padam orennam vittu poyi - White..

Has any other actor done so many movies during this period?
It is hard to believe that a man of such wealth of experience failed to forsee the fate and worth of these movies.. there can be only 2 reasons:
Make easy money and increase his movie numbers..
Help a few people have a living with these movies.. at least few of these must have made some profits in one way or other .

not sure on ..why UK distribution of BP..dint happened...Actors should improve their market with good movies

I think a lot of people forget one thing. Ikka is not really cared about box office much. Not to the level which few others are worried. Its like someone who has done it all feels like its enough. There is nothing more. If through him , may be few youngsters could achieve their dreams , he was happy. Unfortunately a lot who got his dates didnt use him properly. Even the biggest superstar of Indian cinema Rajnikanth,other than petta which one really satisfied his fans or showed the Rajnism he is known for. In that end I think Mohanlal was lucky to have gotten a good decade.

Lalettan after a series of duds changed the strategy.. First he acted in a couple of multi starrers, then became choosy.. As u can see he acted in much less movies compared to mammookka..

Mammookka kk ATBB illathirunnathalla problem, being a legendary actor & mega star, he selected movies which had written ചവറ് all over in it..
