#ActionHeroBiju is a well-made police narrative with social/moral relevance, infused with a good amount of humour. Director Abrid Shine manages to pull off an almost documentary like detailing of the life of a cop, in an entertaining way.
Devoid of testosterone filled action scenes or high profile drama, the film focusses on the mundane nature of policing with day-to-day crime. Climax fights could have been trimmed and human rights scene avoided but otherwise, does a neat job in pushing the police narrative without any fuss. Without humour, it wouldn't have worked though and would have got bogged by the trivialities it highlights...
An out and out Nivin Pauly film and he shoulders it ably on his broad shoulders. It is commendable that despite the success of his comedy-romantic aura and the pressure to deliver something on similar lines, he avoids getting stereotyped here. There are lots of tidbit characters but stories of Suraj & Rohini stand out.
Music takes a backseat here but surprised to see an Yesudas-Vani Jairam duet here (a bit like the Jayachandran-Vani Jairam '1983' veterans song). However, expected more from the BGM though..
#ActionHeroBiju gives a largely positive image of cops in contrast to#Visaranai that is running at the same time in theatres. The story is muted and what we have is an artist's perspective of a policeman - a small experiment which is carried off successfully...

Let see ,one week koodi kazhiyatte ,athra negative ayi enikku thonni Illa ,strictly mixed with extreme end opinion ennanu thonniyathu..main centers movie odan chance undu. Definitely will do well out side kerala and overseas where people can watch movies with out disturbance from a section of people who cannot tolerate a movie they don't like ,appo kooval comment parachil ooke Varum Athu movie watching atmosphere thanne mattum .so I am not expecting much from small centers and some single sceens . As the tagline of the movie suggests .. It's "A Ride with a police officer" so the story part is Zeroo... But is a collection of incidents which a common police man would face.. I liked the freshness and treatment of the movie.. This may create a trend setter to the upcoming police films... No cliche scenes or dialogues which we used to see in every police films in the past years(which was the best part) ... Clean direction , editing and bgm
