A Simple,Feel-Good Movie!

Cinematographer Jibu Jacob’s directorial debut Vellimoonga is a simple entertainer filled with clean humor.The screenplay by Joji Thomas reworks the formula of 90s malayalam family entertainers pretty well & succeeds in keeping the audience entertained from the start to the end.
The story set in a small village called Shanthipuram presents the political,personal & romantic life of Mamachan,portrayed earnestly by Biju Menon.The movie narrates a simple plot with the support of good humor & works well both as a good family entertainer & a political satire making it a really engrossing watch.
Biju Menon enacts the lead character Mamachan with ease & excellent comic timing,again proving that he can pull out a movie by himself without the support of another hero.The combination sequences between him & Aju Vargheese were really good & evoked laughs most of the time.Asif Ali's cameo appearance was impressive & impactful.Nikki Garlani was ok as the female lead.
Music by Biji Bal was strictly average,the same being the case with the Background score.Cinematography by Vishnu Narayan & Editing by Sooraj were ok.
Overall,Vellimoonga is a neat family entertainer worth watching which can gratify all the sections of the audience.
