All the best...................
Almost 25 years after directing and launching the first Mad Max movie and the hero Mel Gibson into global stardom, George Miller is back with Mad Max 4: Fury Road.
Mad Max was among the first major hits to cover the apocalyptic theme and what a lawless world will look like when humanity as we know it comes to an end. The Mad Max series was a huge commercial success holding the Guinness record for being the most profitable movie for a long time.
George Miller a 4 time Oscar nominee and one time winner took a big hiatus from directing movies after the Mad Max success. He came back to direct the animated Happy Feet series but fans have been waiting for a full blown Miller production for decades.
Miller prepared a script for the 4th Mad Max movie in 2003 but went through various roadblocks to get the green light. Post production started in 2009 and finally after various delays the movie is to be launched on 14th May 2015 at Cannes.
All the best to the MM4 team.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Venue: Cineworld Union Sq
Show: 15/05, 23:20
A few weeks ago two of the biggest action franchises released their products, Marvel's Avengers and Universal's FF 7. Big budget, formulaic, action galore etc...etc... but to be honest the visual spectacle was nothing worth remembering. It was big and entertaining, but we have been there and seen it before, regularly. One felt like action movies lost their purity.
Then comes Mad Max: Fury road, a reboot of a 35 year old low budget action movie by the same director who comes from a very old but somehow very refreshing school of thought.
Mad Max is not a movie filled with pockets of action sequences and set pieces, but its a 2 hour action scene laced with just the right amount of dialogue and story.
DIRECTION
George Miller hasn't made an action movie in 3 decades, his last movie was the Happy Feet cartoon! But man does he know action or what. A simple story told in his own style. Flashbacks are just that flashes in between fight scenes, no story within a story nonsense. Dialogues are crisp and kept to a minimum, the hero doesn't reveal his name till the end, yet Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron engage throughout the movie.
Oh and the action, Wow. When movies are filled with the impossible made possible with obvious computer generated grandiose thankfully Miller went old school. Real cars and trucks modified beyond imagination, crashes, explosion, oil, everything is so real and gut wrenching! And some of the ideas, the swaying poles with villains, the exploding rods being thrown, men willing to sacrifice their lives for the leader........George Miller is a visionary but he will have a tough task in living up with the sequel.
CAST
Charlize Theron: The true hero of the movie, simply brilliant actress very well cast as the one armed Furiosa. She had the most emotive scenes, anger, death, happiness....they needed somebody very good to fill the role and Theron steals the show. Furiosa will be one of those immortal action heriones like Sarah Connor from Terminator or Ripley from Alien.
Tom Hardy: Im a fan and hes done very well, but like I mentioned above she steals the show. His body language as always is brilliant.
Hugh Keays-Byrne: The Indian born Byrne is simply epic as King Immortan. Amazing presence and oozes evil. Well characterised by Miller.
Brilliant movie is a must see for action connoisseurs.
