Piku, was a movie with lot of expectations as it was shoojit sircar movie after vicky donor and madras cafe. also it brings the casting of amitabh bacchan, deepika and irfan khan together. and what to say, after watching the movie. feels like it has exceeded all expectations.

Piku, character played by deepika lives with his father, 70 year old Amitabh in delhi. Amitabh has a problem of constipation. he wants the daughter to not get married and stay with him. The father-daughter all time argues about constipation, He's obsessed with details of the color, the texture, the size, and the consistency of his poop, which he insists on sharing with his daughter even when she's at work or out on a date.

Also bringing his best game to the film is Irrfan Khan as Rana Chowdhary, the owner of a private taxi company who volunteers to drive Piku and her father all the way from Delhi to Kolkata when the old man insists on visiting his ancestral home. The film takes the shape of a road-trip movie from this point on. How they complete the journey and what happens in kolkata forms rest of story.

• All lead actors.. simply fantastic.. irfan khan.. u just rocks...
• subtle humour throughout ( irfan and amitabh discussion of indian and western style toilet, another hilarious scene draws out the entire digestive route of food for a fascinated Amitabh)
• deepika's portayal of a independent modern woman who treats sex as a need and is okay with having physical relationship with her collegue.
• the road trip from delhi to kolkata
• the way the movie discuss about modern day commitments, relations in a refreshing manner.

Negatives:
