As a member @Nyk suggested please remove the other language thread until strike gets over. I still can see members promoting other language films there today also. It is their wish but we will be unsuccessful in our attempts.

The real problem is people like Basheer has too much hold in our Government and political parties. Basheer's theater is in Thalassery ,a left fortress. If he is openly shouting against the Malayalam movie industry and not accepting any Government requests, there is a reason behind that. All local political leaders -whether it is CPM, Congress, ML or BJP- collect good money from him. He contributed well to the local CPM MLA and Congress MP. Nobody has the courage to say anything openly against him.
Kerala doesn't have many industries (especially in small towns). Most of the municipalities get their major revenue through movie theaters. Killing Malayalam movie industry like this will have long term impact. Only a very small portion of the profits coming from the Tamil and Bollywood industry go to Kerala. This move to kill Malayalam movies for the so called big non-Malayali producers and distributors will affect our culture and economy.

Very correct. But one relief is that there are only two or three actors in Tamil who command such a market in Kerala. If you are not aware of a fact that a recent Vikram Prabhu movie has not even released in Kerala. These two or three actors do only one or two movies a year. So the theatres cannot fully survive on those three hits
Last year it is a known fact that theatres earned maximum money from Malayalam films. But this has increased their greed. Many Tamil films have bombed in Kerala last year and Iam sure this is going to repeat this year also.
I feel such an influence or this kind of manipulation of malpractices of Liberty Basheer cannot be succeed in long run.Earlier also there has been such cases and they have never been successful. One day there there will also be his downfall and I think that day is nearing.
