The number of movies got reduced significantly, and most of the movies are targeting only the rural audience. Kolkata theaters are now completely controlled by the Bollywood and Hollywood movies.

Bengali movies have a huge market - Bengal, Assam, Tripura and part of Bangladesh, compared to Malayalam. They are struggling to survive. Due to the award winning directors, people still recognize the industry.

Tamil ennalla but only vijay and Surya. Kaabil or raees or dangal release cheythillel onnum smabhavikkila. Even vikram or ajith films to a certain extent nothing will happen. Pakshe vijay or Surya or rajnikanth athanu ivide Vishayam. Oru latest vikram prabhu film keralathil release aayilla. Vallavarum arinjo?

It shows kerala market of Tamil films revolves around these three superstars. Pinne avar keralathil vannu Kure charity works and over that show off undu which our stars don't do. That makes them God among malayalis too.

I can understand. I just checked the collections of Bengali films. Their first day record is only 80 lakhs and on an average they collect only around 20 lakhs on first day and surprised that too in 200 screens. So I assume their halls must be empty. And their industry hit and all time blockbuster has collected only 12 crores. So they are way behind Southern film industries. Perhaps they can try out a new market in Kerala with migrant workers just like Malayalam films in Middle East.

But Iam sure Malayalam aa oru down stagil ethanamekil kurachu nallavannam budhimuttum because other language filmsinu Malayalathil market ippozhum athra high onnum alla except for first three days of Vijay and Suriya and Rajni films. And how many of them release in a year. Maximum three.

So no need to worry about that.

And Malayalis will watch a film in theatre only if it is really good. During strike they watched Dangal because it was good but they outrightly rejected Kathisandai which collected only 25 lakhs in Kerala

Appo iniyum Malayalam release illengil after first three days of Bhairava and S3 kathikals by their respective fans, people will resort to DVD's and pen drives. Liberty Basheer and exhibitors team eecha aati irikkum.

This post is not just a reply to your post but my second thoughts and a positive thought to all the forum members. I think this strike is for good in long term. Producers have become adamant and everyone have started knowing the fraud and manipulation of Liberty and team and almost everyone are against them.

So even if Malayalam films release only in February after the strike let us keep calm and let everything be for good. If a film is good it will be a superhit. MP and AHB released in February. Once they start collecting well and make up for the loss then people and showbiz will forget everything and back to normal.

Mikkavarum oru February aayal exhibitors okke eecha aati irikkandi varum. Hritik Roshante Box office position ellavarkkum(Mohanjodaro) ariyam and that too in Kerala ethra pokum. I dont have any hopes in these other language films going to be released in January.

Very soon without protests from any sector they will learn a lesson and come back to Malayalam films. Athu vare avar onnu padikkatte. Good that producers are strong this time.
