Viewers: their money remains in their pocket. They can watch yesteryear classics or other language movies to kill boredom.
Exhibitors: can get moneyfrom OL movies temporarily. Over long term can convert business into marraige halls, malls hoteks etc if downturn persist.
Producers: professional producers have already stopped production as its lossmaking business. Film loving producer businesmmen will stay in their own businessfields and save their money.
Senior artist/ celebrities: this is the sectiion which has profited most from malayalam film industry and film lovers. Diversyfing into different businesses they have also entered film production distribution exhibition cornering most promising projects. Most profitable films in 2016 like AHB, Oppam, Kattapanna, Maheshinte, Anandam, Pretham, King Lair were also produced by this group. Their silence on the strike is shocking and shows that they have earned enough money from us and can affford not to work and still live comfortably. They can also go into television
Junior artistes/ techinicians: recently came across the news of TP madhavan , a very good actor who acted in many small roles. Was shocked to know that he is in an old age home and had no assets and was living in a room in a lodge. It is this group for whom cinema is their life which will be impacted by this strike and its long term impacts.
unless cancer like Liberty Basheer is removed malayalam films will die a slow death and with it the liverlihood of so many people. Any compromise even now will only be a short term relief unless such people are removed from these positions for ever.
