Yes kannada in spite of government support is not growing as expected. But in spite of all these adverse factors Malayalam industry is double strong and even reached 100 crore club. And Malayalam has a much larger R. O. I and overseas market which kannada does not have

What needs not be noted is that in katnataka native kannada speakers form just 65% of populayion so their movies have a smaller market anyway and dont compete dirrctly with tamil, malayalam, hindi. Their difficult is yo get adequatr theatres due to other langauage releasrs which the goverment has remedied by imposing restriction on OL movies.also lower tax is there. In malayalam no such help. Only contrnt quality is hrlping malayalM movirs survive despite adverse circumstances
