Sathyam....They only want strike. No issues against non-Malayalam movies and their OTT releases. They are happy to release Tamil and Hindi, even if they telecast their movies in OTT platforms faster than Malayalam movies. What a shame !!!

I have noticed several times when the going gets good and Mollywood starts performing well they organise a strike. Mosham samayathu strike illa onnum illa. Because mosham samayathu strike illathe thanne other language films odikolum.

Is there an other language lobby which is controlled by someone from Tamil Nadu? Because Kerala is the biggest market for Tamil films after Tamil Nadu...
On the contrary they never allow a wide release of Malayalam films there. Latest Bramayugam being an example. Compare Telugu states number of screens with TN.. You will understand. Such narrow minded morons....
2018 movie -Pride of Mollywood.
It is partially true. Not sure about the lobby. In general, Kerala is one of the largest markets for Tamil movies. Many of the border theaters (Palakkad, Idukki and TVM) only show Tamil movies. We can not even get a regular releasing center even in Nagercoil, where there are 25% Malayalis. We blindly support Tamil movies and their heroes.
There is no harm is supporting a movie which has a demand. We know that in North Indian states Bollywood films collect more than their regional films except in Maharashtra and Punjab where their regional films collect decently and there are superhits and blockbuster. But in other states like Gujarat, bengal and Orissa its Bollywood domination.
But that is not the case in Kerala. They are calling for a strike at a time when not a single other language film is collecting well and four movies have already become hits/superhits/blockbusters. This seems to be initiated by a lobby from outside states specially Tamil Nadu to assure that Malayalam films dont run good enough so as to reduce their demand.
And when you say Tamil movies its mostly Vijay films or films like Jailer /PS which are a theatrical watch.
Thats why I said Malayalam movies dominate Kerala box office always. But the neighbouring states specially Tamil Nadu lobby are trying their best to completely wipe out Malayalam films from Kerala
Otherwise a strike of this type is unwarrented at a time when there are back to back hits in Malayalam and not a single Tamil movie is collecting well here.
Mainly we need a strong pro active government support which we lack. Still the government considers cinema as something which is unwanted which is not the case in other states.
