Oozham - Okayish Thriller

Found the movie to be pretty watchable, far from Jeethu's best such as Detective and Drishyam. The movie doesn't feel cliched and is even smart at points despite being a normal revenge story because the writer in jeethu joseph succeeds in populating it with characters with flesh and blood. The portrayal of chief protagonist's family is nicely done as in all Jeethu's movies. The inital minutes are spent to establish the same and the actress who played the role of pritvi's sister does a fine job. The film then on has it's highs and lows. It never makes you bored and writing is decent throughout but it is the execution which falters at times. There is no thrill attached to the action/chase sequences and CGI works during blast sequences were pretty ordinary. The film also does feel unnecessarily stretched like most of regional movies which feature in the thriller genre, since the director feels the added responsibility to cater to the family audience. The question of logic does come up at times and make the proceedings a bit murky, specifically since it is pitched as a realistic thriller.

Few Positives
Scripting is fairly good, Characters with real shades, Decent show by the cast, good BGM,

Few negatives
Lack of Pace, Length, Lack of tension in places

To sum it up it is a pretty watchable film which will be enjoyed more by those who could enjoy leisurely paced thrillers with due importance on content and characterisation, enjoyed it more than Memories.
