Hacksaw Ridge. simply excellent. powerful making. the war scenes are the best i have seen since the opening of 'Saving Private Ryan'. mel gibson has this knack of bringing together varied structures. in 'braveheart' & 'apocalypto', his heroes were violent. in 'passion of christ' and this one, his heroes are not and in these two he has beautifully merged the twin concepts of faith & violence, or more better said, faith during violence. emotional scenes have just about the right amount of drama required, war scenes have just about the extra amounts of gore required. never had an opinion of garfield since he chose the webbed vigilante, but Desmond Doss was brilliant. the movie is about Doss, a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian believer of the Bible who wants to serve his country during WWII against the Japs in Okinawa but is hell-bent sure that he won't pick up a weapon because by doing so he would be breaking the 6th Commandment of the Lord which happens to be 'Thou shall not kill'.

    Liberal arts

The movie works they way it treats romance or love within a metaphysical flavor.. This is not above relationship or an urges towards the other, its more about how one fulfills the role of his own anima or animus .. Its about building that space with other as most great philosophers always wanted to experience and they even idealized it..

Recommended for literature or philosophy buffs.

    Almost Adults

Simple and Charming,Almost Adults is a superb feel-good drama. The powerhouse performances of the lead ladies are indeed the biggest asset of this cinema.Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis were just brilliant with their performances, both the actors were stupendous and smart, they share such a great onscreen rapport.Elise in particular was damn too cute, she is really adorable.Justin Gerhard and Winnie Clarke were good in prominent roles.

Sarah Rotella has taken a complex theme on board and has smartly converted it into a fully appealing and engaging cinema. Her narration had a good amount of earnestness and honesty which reflected in this fine outcome. The soundtracks were good and the ones used towards the ending was superb. In short, this is a perfect feel-good cinema that gives you enough to think and smile.

    Overall,Almost Adults is Superb !

    The Founder

The Founder is a finely crafted biographical drama.A seemingly engaging plot has been presented in the most entertaining manner with a dominating performance by its lead actor.Michael Keaton pulls of the character of Ray Kroc with aplomb,he was subtle and superb with his performance. One of the prime factor which makes the proceedings interesting is indeed his smart performance.Supporting cast were good,Nick Offerman anf John Carroll Lynch were really good as the McDonald's brothers.

John Lee Hancock as the director did an impressive job.Unlike most of the biographical dramas, this is rather simple and has a non-serious tone. The technical aspects were fine with good frames and soundtracks. The realistic environment is another factor which makes this an interesting watch, each and every scene along with the performances had an original feel,a film with zero gimmicks and exaggeration.

    Overall,The Founder is Good !

    7.5/10

    Manchester By the Sea

One can hardly find american movies dealing death or loss , but this is One of the powerful film of the year focus on death, loss and redemption .

Wonderfully narrated , the writer achieved beyond extraordinary showing the two sides of death , ie. how lossing your loved ones can leave one with an unbearable guilt or trauma but even death can you another chance to mend yourself .

Ceasy affleck deserves all the credit and watching his screen reminded me of james dean or clift
