i have heard that christianity is illegal in some parts of america like california...is it just in small areas or a considerable percentage when compared to the size of the country?

in which verse of which of the four gospels has jesus said that? have to say, you have got it wrong. all that jesus said about conversion is, 'one has to convert and become like children to enter the kingdom of heaven.' now i don't need to explain to you what qualities of a child are being said about, do I? become as innocent and as loving as children, that's what jesus said. all it requires is a change in behaviour and thoughts. let me ask you a question, how many people has jesus converted in the bible? how many has jesus baptised in the bible? nobody. after he left, his disciples started to spread his word. they needed to bring people together for which they used the symbol of baptism. and another thing, just because you did something in the 1st century, does not mean that should be followed even now. jesus converted jews to believe in yehovah who was primarily their god. jesus did not convert hindus or muslims or indian dalits to christianity, which is what took place later because disciples were so fervent about building the church rather than bringing about a change.

You are right....Jesus may not have meant to make people members of some church....he just meant to teach his ideas and make people more innocent and sinless...but today's converters are not just doing that....they are also forcing them to join their church/group....that is the problem.
