Yes. Athu thanneya njaanum paranjathu. Even in Bollywood it is like that. Good films will not have an audience in villages in Bihar or Madhya Pradesh. Total collections nokkiyal ee saadharana films onnum Khan blockbustersinte pakuthi collection varilla. But since Bollywood films run all over India and since there is a big crowd in multiplexes too such movies also reach 100 crore club

Atha njan example paranjathu. A Vikram Vedha or Kakkamuttai will never get the collections of a Singam or Theri or Mersal.

Pinne aaro chodichu why Captain did not become a hit. Nalla theme aayal pora good direction koodi venam. It should not bore the audience. Athanu ENMinte vijayam. It was a serious theme but the audience did not feel lag for a single minute. If you notice ENM had its share of humorous moments too.

Mahanati also the same. Even though it had a tragic theme director made the movie without lags and athyavashyam comedy okke cherthu .

In fact I feel Malayali audiences are more mature than Telugu. Tamil audiences too accept good movies than Telugu. Why they did not accept Mahanati here is because nobody knows Savithri very well. But anyway for the makers, they would have never expected much from here..and it hardly matters..
