കൂട്ടുകാരെ, ഞാൻ അരുൺ സൈമൺ, ഇരിങ്ങാലക്കുട സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ സിപിഒ ആണ്. "കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെ സെൽഫി " എന്നും പറഞ്ഞ് പ്രചരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ദിലീപുമൊത്തുള്ള ഫോട്ടോ വ്യാജമാണ്. അത് ജോർജേട്ടൻസ് പൂരം എന്ന സിനിമ ഷൂട്ടിങ്ങിനായി ദിലീപ് ഇരിങ്ങാലക്കുട വന്നപ്പോൾ എടുത്തതാണ്.

ദിലീപിന് ഇരുവശത്തുമായി രണ്ടു പൊലീസുകാർ നിൽക്കുന്ന സെൽഫിയാണ് സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ‘ഇടപെടലിലൂടെ’ വിവാദമായത്. അറസ്റ്റു ചെയ്ത ദിലീപിനെ ആലുവ സബ് ജയിലിൽ റിമാൻഡു ചെയ്യാനായി കൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോൾ ധരിച്ചിരുന്ന ഷർട്ട് (അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അതിനു സമാനമായ ഷർട്ട്) തന്നെയാണ് പൊലീസുകാർക്കൊപ്പമുള്ള സെൽഫിയിലും ദിലീപ് ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതാണ് തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണയ്ക്ക് ഇടയാക്കിയതെന്ന് കരുതുന്നു.
