Congrats 2018 for being India's official entry to Oscar!
Hope it wins! Or atleast gets to nomination!
It's a pity that we didn't send OVVG to Oscar! It's probably the best movie ever made out of, not just Kerala, but India overall, in a genre considered for awards!
Aa oru time il aa padathinte perfection apaaram thanne!
basic problem with 2018 is that it's a disaster movie... which is a common genre for people in Hollywood. Essentially it's a genre commonly used among commercial blockbuster type movies.
Like few years ago Norway submitted a disaster movie to the Oscars.... but it was never nominated. Called "The Wave", a 2015 film.
An ideal genre for the Oscars are always your drama type serious films. Most Oscar winners and nominees have been such films. Like Nanpakal Nerathu.
Bhutan's Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom was a recent nominee. The recent Japanese winner Drive my Car. Or the Chinese nominee Better Days.
or the Iranian film The Salesman which won in 2016.
