Nothing like that . Till 70's and late 80 films of Mollywood like Prem Nazir, Sathyan era are out of fashion now except for a classic like Chemmeen.

But after late 80's , 90,s and early 2000's films have a contemporary feel to them and they can be watched even after 50 years. For example films like Aaram Thamburan , narasimham, devasuram etc are watched by youth who were not even born when these films were made. Need not be a crazy film buff to watch such movies.

When you travel in a bus or when you go somewhere even now we can hear old prabhudeva songs like in Kadhalan or yodha or advaitham songs or even songs in a flop film like Thacholi varghese chekavar.

Songs in Indraprashtam are a bigger hit now than at the time when the movie was released. If a movie has a contemporary feel it will not get outdated

that's the true reality. just look at all the world classics across the world (whch normal viewer remembers anything?)
stardom exists in the "present" moment. then later on you become "history" and only a few film buffs may remember you.

By 2050 time, I'm sure they will find movies in 80s/90s/00s to be very dated lol
