ok thanks. Films which collected 7 crore and 10 crore in TN (Ayothi, Dada)which is a bigger market than Kerala are being declared hits and here(Kerala) in spite of being a small market films which collect below 10 crore are declared flops(Neymar, Pachu). What double standard!!!

If a movie which collects 7 crore in a much bigger state than Kerala can be declared a hit then how can a movie which collects 5 crore in a small market like Kerala be a flop. Angane nokkiyal a movie to be a hit should collect at least 25 crore in TN which is a much bigger state than Kerala. So only four films will be genuine hits in Tamil

Cannot compare as in TN & Also AP/TG producers sell their movies to distributors and the distributors sell them to area wise distributors so if the film recovers that rights amount then it will be classified as hit venture...and depending upon the returns & profit made the verdict will increase... similar to how we buy other language movies rights.. rights medichal producers safe aavum... distributon amount recover Cheythal distributors and theatre ownersum safe aavum..

Keralathil angane illa ... So everyone including producers & theatre owners okke safe aavanam engil collection kooduthal venam to declare them as hits/superhits...

Genuine collections ulle oru source ittenne ullu.. Doesn't mean i agree to their labelling of hits and super hits. It's still not bad.
PS2 - 340 crores; Varisu - 300, Thunivu - 200, Vaathi - 117. Viduthalai 45 crores from tn box office alone which is good. Pichaikaran 2 global box office 40 crores und, por thozhil also will be same range. Seems like a decent yr till now for them.. I think 40 crores is a decent collection for tn box office. For the star movies it's different obviously

TN box office collections wise 99% movies are disasters, perhaps worst return among all Indian languages. Also ticket rates are very cheap which also impacts collections. Difference is losses are mostly borne by distributors for big star films. Also there's next to no transparency in collections.
