thanks.......
Plot: Pretty predictable stuff, easily predicted the main elements from the trailer itself. However, didn’t expect another element along with the aspect of new gen relationships. normalized and made that aspect digestible for audiences.. sadacharakaru varum ennu thonnunnila
Performances:
Mohanlal was really good in my opinion, this is the only film of his in recent times that brought back his vintage charm. Lalettan’s chiri and chammallu nammal malayalikku oru nostalgic feel thaneyaanu.. got that back.. there were moments where I thought the Botox after effect really limited his performance but can’t do anything about that because it’s not in his hands anymore.
Lalu Alex was hilarious and was a show stealer. He had a great role and performance in a long time.
Prithviraj - his acting seemed cringe at times like when he falls unconscious after seeing blood. That scene and acting seems so forced and cringe. However his chemistry with Lalettan and comic timing in other scenes made up for other scenes.
Kalyani was good considering her background and the type of film this is.
Meena had absolutely nothing to do, make up okke van over aanu.. I guess it’s fine cause it’s an unrealistic film but whenever she’s on screen you feel like you got transported into a serial.
Kaniha - honestly really bad. Her dubbing was off. So many scenes where you can clearly tell she wasn’t talking
Soubin - I thought he was very funny and he did make me laugh a lot due to the scenes he was given but it is an over the top ridiculous role
Unni Mukundan and others had nothing to do
Over all in terms of story it’s actually super mediocre and unrealistic. There are a lot of funny and likable scenes. Mainly it banks on this and only this. You can never show this film to another person outside the state and expect them to like it.
In terms of direction, it is indeed an average story that is only lifted up due to its direction. Yesteryear comedies by Priyadarshan seemed to be a huge flavour of this movie in a good way.
It clearly feels like Prithviraj found the charm the Priyadarshan lost when doing comedies.
On to other aspects, it does feel like a prolonged ad film when it comes to aesthetics and overall feel. This can be a negative if you don’t like those type of movies.
Overall it is a generic entertainer that doesn’t do anything pathbreaking in its vision or execution. However, you don’t get bored watching it. You might have to bare some cringe moments to get some good laughs, but Prithviraj does the maximum he can do with a very predictable script to make it entertaining.
Not really a boring watch in my opinion, a lot of it works and there’s alot that doesn’t work.
Like for example character names, both characters being named Anna and Prithviraj being named EESHO is literally placed to create a comedy and the same type of comedy repeats.
It’s a decent watch if you turn off your brain. You may love or hate it. I thought it was a decent watch for a TV viewing.
