That's exactly what happened for composing music for Simbu's new film 'Kettavan.' They thought they would at least get two songs composed, but as luck would have it, 5 songs were composed.

Yuvan is planning to release a solo album. Work for that is going on at Bangkok only. His favorite place in Bangkok is JW Marriott. That's where he stays every time he goes to Bangkok. However the last time he and Simbu went to Bangkok, the Marriott was full, so they had no option but to stay at another hotel.

No one is sure exactly what it is in Bangkok that is so inspiring to Yuvan and Simbu. Whatever it may be, all songs composed there by Yuvan have been sure fire hits!

    Sandhya very worried...

After the fabulous debut that she made about two years ago, Sandhya is a very worried actress now thanks to some wrong decisions that she made when it comes to films.

In the recent film 'Vallavan' she had played a blink-and-you'll-miss-her' kind of role as Simbu's friend. In another film, she is one of the two heroines. Bhavana is the main heroine of this film. Sandhya is now worried that the industry might demote her to playing second heroine roles.

But, her prayers are soon going to be answered.

She is going to be the main heroine of director Selvaraghavan's new film. Jyothika's brother-in-law Karthi is playing the main role. Rumors have started that the film has a very "hot" song sequence featuring her and the hero. This hasn't come as a surprise to anybody because Selvaraghavan is known to sensually portray romance and intimacy on the screen.

So, Sandhya is getting ready for a big image revival with the film.

'Sivaji' luxury bus up for sale!

A beautiful glass mansion was built at Hyderabad's Ramoji Rao Film City. A duet of Rajini and Shriya was shot in it. After that, the glass was dismantled carefully and sold. This way AVM recovered a few lakhs of its original investment.

They also bought a bus and spent several lakhs making it a luxury coach. It comes as a character itself in the film and AVM plans to sell off this one too.

In the film, villains kill Rajini's family. Rajini is also wounded by a gunshot. Raghuvaran saves him. If he is taken to the hospital, the villains would harm him, so a fully equipped bus is brought for Rajini to be given medical attention as the bus is being driven around Chennai. It looks like an ordinary bus outside but inside it has a fully equipped operation room, conference hall, toilet facilities etc.

Since the van is rather hi-tech, it won't be surprising if it fetches a fabulous amount.

Manirathnam's favorite director is a Malayali!

You need to be very special and talented to be named as one of the most favorite directors of a man who is considered to be one of the best ever filmmakers in India, Manirathnam.

The honor goes to none other than Jijo, the man who had made India's first ever-successful 3D film,'My Dear Kutty Chaatan'.

At an interview with CNN, Manirathnam made this confession. When asked by the interviewer if he was the best director in India right now, the ace filmmaker said, "I'm probably the best only because Jijo is no longer directing films."

The film was re-released recently, after more than two decades since it was made. Even now, it managed to create waves at the box office.

It really is about time that we acknowledge the best talents that Malayalam film industry has

    `Kireedom` complete!

    By Moviebuzz |

The Ajit-Trisha starrer Kireedom produced by Suresh Balajee is complete in less than 100 days. This is simply amazing as all Ajit films normally take months to be shot. Sources close to Ajit say that the film has shaped out well as an action based family entertainer, which will give the actor a new image.
The unit of Kireedom will be going to Kerala this week to shoot the last song. Says Suresh Balajee: “This song will be shot in Alleppy, Vakamon and Thekkady and is choreographed by Kalyan ,With this last song the entire shoot will be wrapped up. What remains is the post-production work and the film will be ready by April end”.

Debutant director A L Vijay, an associate of Priyadarshan said that adequate changes have been made to the script of Kireedom, which is loosely based on the Malayalam classic with the same name. He also added that it was a great experience to work with a committed actor like Ajith. So, if all works well, Kireedom will be the big summer release.

    Meera's new house!

    By Moviebuzz | Saturday, 07 April , 2007, 11:28

Is Meera Jasmine the shrewdest and most calculative heroine in South cinema? She knows how to get things done, without making a hue and cry over it. This has worked to Meera’s advantage as she remains afloat with her kitty full of projects.
Recently the actress received bouquets and brickbats for her role as a pot maker opposite S J Suryah in Tirumagan. Though she did a commendable performance, purists in Kerala, her home town, thought that the girl-next-door image that she has in Malayalam industry was tarnished.

But Meera is unperturbed with such comments and soldiers on with the right mix of commercial films in Tamil and Telugu and art-house meaningful films in Malayalam.

Now, she is also looking forward to the house warming of her new bungalow on Vishu Day (April 15) in Kadavanthara, a suburb of Kochi. “Vybhavam” is her dream home and the buzz is that this 4000 sq feet palatial bungalow has a home theatre and cost a whopping Rs 1.5 Crore!

She has completed Parattai with Dhanush and has signed Nepali with Bharath. In Malayalam her Vinodayatra with Dileep is releasing today and she is shooting with Mammootty for award winning director Shyamaprasad’s Ore Kadal. She is also doing a Telugu and Kannada film with top stars.

    Jijo had done it brilliantly...
What a beautiful film was that kuttichaathan....
No film would sustain 100 days in theater even its second run after 20 years...
I still remember Sarita q for Kuttichathan (2nd time-)...
