காரணம் தனது சக எழுத்தாளர்களிடம் இதை உண்மை என்று ஒப்புக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார் அவர்.

ஆனால் அந்தப் படத்தில் விக்ரம் நடிக்கிறார், விஷால் நடிக்கிறார், விஜய்யும் நடிக்கிறார், மகேஷ்பாபுவை ஒப்பந்தமே செய்து விட்டார் மணிரத்னம் என்று மெட்ராஸ் டாக்கீஸ் வட்டாரங்கள் சொன்னாலும் அதிகாரப் பூர்வ அறிவிப்பு எப்போ வெளிவரும் என்று டென்ஷனாக இருக்கிறது மீடியா.

இதில் யோசிக்க வேண்டிய விஷயம், விஷால் தொடர்ந்து மூன்று படங்களுக்கு கால்ஷீட் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். விஜய்யும் 'வேலாயுதம்' படத்துக்கு பிறகு 'பகலவனை' தொடங்கப் போகிறார், அதன் பிறகு 'களவாணி' பட இயக்குநர் சற்குணம் இயக்கத்தில் போலீஸ் கமிஷனராக நடிக்க இருக்கிறார் என்கிறார்கள். நிலைமை இப்படியிருக்க, எப்படி முடியும் இவர்களால் என்றொரு கேள்வியும் எழுந்திருக்கிறது.

ஆனால் அதில் உண்மையும் இருக்கக் கூடும் என்று குழப்புகிறது இன்னொரு தகவல். கடந்த சில தினங்களாக 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' நாவலை விழுந்து விழுந்து படித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறாராம் விஜய். பைண்டிங் செய்யப்பட்ட 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' புத்தகத்தை கையில் வைத்து படித்துகொண்டிருக்கிறாராம்.

மதிய உணவு இடைவேளையில் வழக்கமாக குட்டி தூக்கம் போடும் விஜய், அந்த நேரத்தைக் கூட தியாகம் செய்து விட்டு கேரவேனில் உட்கார்ந்து படித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறாராம். ஆரம்பத்தில் இவர் ஏதோ அரசியல் தலைவரின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்றைதான் படித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்று நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களாம் 'நண்பன்' பட யூனிட்டில்.

அப்புறம்தான் அது 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' என்பதே தெரிய வந்திருக்கிறது. போகிற போக்கில் 'பொன்னியின் செல்வன்' நாவலுக்கு மறுபடியும் நல்ல ஒரு சந்தை
உருவாகியிருக்கிறது

Vijay reading Ponniyin Selvan novel


Ilayathalapathy Vijay who is busy shooting in Dehradun with Director Shankar is now days really busy even when he takes time off the shoots. When many of us would expect the actor to take a walk down the hills and breathe in some cool air Vijay decides otherwise.

One of the local scribes at the sets informed us that Vijaywas seen all wrapped up reading a big bound volume of the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ novel and he spends concentrated hours reading the book to make Vanthiyathevan(character played by Vijay in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ ) pop right out of those yellow pages.

Vijay will be continuing his tight schedules further, afterVelayudham and Nanban expected for release the earliest as possible, later it would be Pagalavan with Seeman after the elections and then another film with director Sargunam.


Now with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ expected to be a mega release for him, the actor might surprise us with some quick decisions

Tamil cinema and Tamil Nadu politics are like two sides of a coin. That too with the Assembly elections nearing, you just can’t separate these two powerful entities, which go hand in hand for decades.

Coming to the latest buzz, Vijay’s Makkal Iyakkam, which is said to be the actor’s launch vehicle for his political entry, is all set to face the elections by joining hands with the main opposition AIADMK.

“In all probability, the AIADMK leadership may allot three seats to Vijay’s outfit. The actor will not contest the polls. However, he may tour the whole State campaigning for the alliance,” sources say.

“Two important office bearers of the Makkal Iyakkam and Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekar will fight the elections on behalf of the Ilaya Thalapathi,” they add. Remember Vijay recently came down heavily on the ruling DMK for allegedly posing hurdles to his film ‘Kavalan’.

The cast for Mani Rathnam’s next film, his take on Kalki’s much loved Ponniyin Selvan is getting finalized. Vijay has landed in the important role of Vallavarayan Vandiyathevan, an impish young man whose adventures form the crux of the plot. Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, fondly called the Prince is going to play Prince Aditha Karikalan, the troubled heir to the Chozha throne, thwarted in love and doomed to die young.

Vikram and Suriya are in the running for the title character, Ponniyin Selvan which is the title conferred on Arulmozhi Varman who becomes famous as Raja Raja Chozhan. Looks like Mani Ratnam is set to achieve a casting coup of all sorts. The two stars will be ready give an arm or a leg for a chance to portray this remarkable character from our proud heritage. We can’t wait to see who gets this role!
