Director Venkat Prabhu has taken off on a holiday with family. The director was quite busy for the past one year or more with Mankatha and ever since the film was released, he was raring to go on a holiday.
Everything set in place and Venkat Prabhu decided to go on that long overdue holiday with family. The director said that he will announce his next film once he is back from the vacation. There are a lot of speculations about this next film and some sources say that he might do a sequel on Chennai 28.

Aadukalam’s yet another distinction

Director Vetri Maaran is extremely pleased that his Aadukalam has been selected for screening at the Kolkata International Film Festival. Aadukalam has been featuring in several international festivals and this is one more feather to its cap.
The film won six national awards this year including Best Actor for Dhanush and Best Director for Vetri Maaran. Incidentally, the film lost to the Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu in the race for India’s official entry to Oscars in the regional films category.

Actress Monica who was seen in films like Imsai Arasu 23m Pulikesi and Nanjupuram is looking forward to her next film Varnam directed by debutant Raj. She plays a Maths teacher in the film and has chosen not to wear makeup to make the character more realistic.
Sampath will be seen in the film in a major character and is excellent according to the actress. Prem, the cinematographer of Pasanga has done a great job in this film, Monica revealed. She promised that Varnam will be a colorful and memorable film.

Aamir Khan watches Engeyum Eppodhum

Film maker A.R. Murugadoss recently screened his maiden production venture Engeyum Eppodhum to ace Bollywood star Aamir Khan. According to sources, Aamir Khan was very impressed with the film and immediately called debut director Saravanan to congratulate him. There are also reports that ace actor might remake the film in Hindi.
Engeyum Eppodhum, produced jointly by Hollywood's prominent production house Fox Studios and director A.R. Murugadoss, grossed Rs. 7 crores in the first 10 days and has been declared a super hit by the trade. It is expected to complete at least 100 days at the box office.
Engeyum Eppodhum is a romantic flick with the right dose of comedy and emotions. The film has Jai, Sharvanand, Anjali and Ananya in the lead roles. The film will be soon released in Telugu as Journey.
