Karthi's untitled film with Suraaj is currently underway with portions being shot in Kerala featuring Anushka and him.
The film also requires another heroine, for which we heard Mumbai girl Nikita Thukral was in contention. She had previously stated that she would be the second lead in this film
In an interesting development, Lakshmi Rai now claims to have also been approached for the same role. She says that talks are currently underway and all that's being finalised are the dates for this film. "I've given my go ahead, now it is just the logistics. The role is very nice, set in the rural backdrop. I will basically figure in all the fun parts of the story and also have two songs with Karthi," she says.
It was just recently that Nikita also said the role that she was approached for in this film had her appearing in two songs in the film. When quizzed about this, Lakshmi says, "I'm not sure about anything regarding Nikita, but I have been approached to be cast as the other romantic interest (apart from Anushka) in this film."
