    JAYAM RAVi
NAG CHAITHANYA Jayam Ravi And Nag Chaithanya in 'DELHi BELLY' Remake ?

Grapevine is abuzz that Bollywood cult 'Delhi Belly' will roll in South with Jayam Ravi or Nag Chaitanya in the lead! The film will be directed by Kannan and the final talks are on with the lead star after which it will be announced officially.
It is said that the film might roll in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously as a bilingual with Nag Chaitanya as the lead as he enjoysa good market in Telugu and has already played a cameo in 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' (The Tamil version of 'Ye Maaya Chesave').
However, a few other birdies have it that Jayam Ravi will be seen in the Tamil versionand Naga Chaitanya in the Telugu version of'Delhi Belly'.
The director has reworked on the script to suit the preferences of the local audience. Ifyou're wondering of who'll be penning the dialogues of this film that predominantly depends on dialogues, its John Martin.
Whatever it may be, we can be assured of an out-and-out entertainer from Kannan.

    ViKRAM
    TABU

    iSHA SHARWANi

TABU, ISHA With ViKRAM in 'DAViD' .... ?

It's no news that Chiyaan Vikram will be doing a full fledged feature film in Hindi, with Mani Ratnam's assistant Bejoy Nambiar. It was earlier reported that the film is titled 'David'. Now, Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that Vikram will be paired opposite Tabu and Isha Sharvani in this film!
Tabu will be playing a different role in 'David' which will definitely be a comeback film of sorts for her, vouch sources in the know. The film will be a telling tale of a Mumbai don and an episode from his life.
Vikram and Bejoy Nambiar have worked together in Mani Ratnam's 'Raavanan' and now the 'Shaitaan' director is busy with thepre-production work on 'David'.
Isha Sharvani who will be seen shaking a leg with Suriya in KV Anand's 'Maatraan', plays Vikram lady love in this film.

    Pongal Fiesta 2012

    2012-01-10 10:02:36

The business of festival releases have changed.
For Pongal 2012, the films due for release will not clash, as they are all slotted on different days. It enables a big film to get a solo opening for a day or two.
The Pongal line-up as of now are- Shankar’s Vijay multi-starrer Nanban on January 12, followed by Kollaikaran on January 13, Lingusamy’s Vettai on January 14 and veteran Ramarajan’s Medhai on January 15.
There is a clear two day gap between the biggies Nanban and Vettai, which will ensure a fantastic opening for the former. During these two days theatres especially in multiplexes will have additional shows of Nanban in screens booked for Vettai.
Advance booking has opened for both the biggies in Chennai city and suburbs and the response has been very good. Nanban may have star power, but in marketing it is way behind UTV’s Vettai, which is hogging all media space.

Big Films to release only for festivals

    2012-01-10 10:37:37

The powerful Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), has decided to control the releases of big films.

This is to ensure small films get adequate screen spaceand playing time.
TFPC Vice-President Amma Creations Siva said at the audio launch of Attakathi :“ We at TFPC have decided to implement this rule as this will enable small budget films to get enough screens. From this year big films will release onlyon five days for Pongal, Tamil New Year, May Day and Deepavali.”
The criteria for rating a big film will be decided by TFPC.

The idea is to encourage small films and enable them to get screen time, but not easy to implement.

A meeting of TFPC will be held today and an officall announcement is likely on this sensitive matter.
