    Distributor Share - 10 crore (expected)
    Prints - 550
    Share Per Print - 1.80 lakhs
    Verdict - ABOVE AVERAGE

    Note: When a film is in the same category like Hit then the one with the higher share is ranked higher. A film with total multiplex release must get higher print average as the grosses are much higher at multiplexes than small centres but last year saw even urban films like I Hate Luv Storys and Anjaana Anjaani getting pretty big releases.

    Katrina Kaif wins Best Actress Award
    The scintillating Katrina Kaif who has been making headlines all through the year adds yet another feather to her cap as she overshadows her contemporaries to win the Best Actress award on popular show Movie Masala on a leading channel.

    The awards determined by a public opinion poll saw the gorgeous actress beat the likes of other heavyweights in the Best Actor Female Category by a clear sweep of votes for her role in Prakash Jha's RAAJNEETI.

    Impressively, is the second consecutive year that Katrina has got the award.

    The star who is on a winning streak also topped the World's Sexiest Woman (Eastern Eye 2010) poll third time in a row. She was also crowned Yahoo's 'Newsmaker of 2010'.

    Aamir Khan's next, a suspense thriller

    The wait is finally over. After nearly two years since he signed his last film, 3 Idiots, and 10 months since its release, Aamir Khan has confirmed his next as an actor. Currently untitled, the latest is a Reema Kagti-directed suspense thriller, which the actor will also co-produce with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

    Even before the release of Khan’s production, Peepli Live, there was a strong buzz that the actor, who had been approached by directors like Rajkumar Santoshi and John Mathew Matthan, would play the anti-hero in Dhoom 3. However, it seems he chose the script penned by Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. Also, he’s venturing into the suspense thriller genre for the first time. Confirming the news, Khan says, “I’ve said yes to Reema’s film. I’m really excited to start shooting in February.” Kagti was an assistant to Ashutosh Gowariker during the making of Lagaan, Khan’s maiden production venture.

    No less thrilled are Akhtar and Sidhwani, with whom Khan has worked previously, nearly a decade ago, for Dil Chahta Hai. “I’ve been waiting to work with Aamir since Dil Chahta Hai, and I’m glad it’s finally happening,” said Sidhwani via a text message from Berlin, where he and Akhtar are shooting Don 2 with Shah Rukh Khan.

    Sidhwani feels that “it’s more special this time” as they’re co-producing the film together. He says, “We can’t wait to start filming.” The film has two female leads. On being asked how she managed to get a nod from the actor, Kagti smiles, “I thank my lucky stars that Aamir liked our script.” However, she does concede that it took a while to get her first choice on board for her second directorial venture. “We had approached him some months ago. So we’re really glad he’s agreed,” she asserts.

    The pre-production of the film, set in India, will start early December. And since the shooting will commence by February, there’s every possibility that it will release in Christmas 2011. The last three year-end festive season has seen Khan hit the bull’s eye at the box office, with 3 Idiots collecting an unprecedented Rs 425 crore from theatres globally.
    My ratings for last 5 Lalettan movies:
    * 04/25 - Thudarum - 2.7/5
    * 03/25 - Empuraan - 3/5
    * 12/24 - Barroz - 2.8/5
    * 01/24 - Malaikottai Vaaliban - 4/5
    * 12/23 - Neru - 2.5/5
