Such a neatly crafted friendship movie with different layers of stories combining to make it one of the worth watch movie of recent times from Hi-fi industry. Execution was damn good and the good part is that you never feel bored; such a neat package of script-writing. Dialogues were awesome too. Speaking of performances, surprisingly, both Abhay and Farhan pawned Hrithik, with their cute mannerisms. Go for it, with the ‘three musketeers’, for the road trip that changed their each others lives.

    Shahid vs Ranbir for Ko

    Team CT

As announced earlier, the Tamil hit Ko, directed by K V Anand, is likely to be remade in Hindi. Initially, it was rumoured that action star Akshay Kumar would essay Jiiva’s role. However, now there’s a buzz that it may not be him after all.
Bollywood’s younger stars Shahid Kapur and Ranbir Kapoor are apparently in the race to play the role of the photo-journalist. Jiiva played the role with ease and it remains to be seen who will bag the role. The actor had earlier told CT that only a young actor can do justice to the role in the Hindi version as well.
Ko had music by Harris Jayaraj and some numbers topped the charts for weeks. It is also said that Ajmal, who got critical acclaim for his role in the film, might be roped in for the Bollywood version as well.

DK Bose is now a bhajan!

Bhajans composed to the tunes of hit Bollywood item songs are fast becoming a rage with youngsters

    Jui Mukherjee

Finding a bhajan on a youngster’s playlist may be unbelievable. But with bhajans taking inspiration from the latest Bollywood chartbuster, it’s an all new story. “Mata mujhse boli, yeh shakti hai meri. Uspe zindagani, bhakti hai meri. Mata ke sharan mein, na aaya toh lagega tujhko shraap, shraap, shraaaaaap! Laga bhog, teekey, bhog, teekey, bhog, teekey, bhog!” — These lyrics that were doing the rounds in the past few days, compelled young college-goers to frantically search for this bhajan online — it’s set to the tune of the super hit and super controversial Bollywood track, “Bhaag DK Bose.”
These bhajans with a Btown twist have become a rage among Hyderabadis. “I have never willingly heard a bhajan, but this DK Bose-inspired one sure sounds like fun,” says Dona Ghosh, a graduate from St. Francis College, who adds, “The “Jyoti Jalaile” song in “Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge” to the tunes of “Beedi jalaile” too was very entertaining.”
And the ingenuity of the lyrics never fails to entertain! “Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye” has been transformed into a “Bhakt phire mara mara, O Maiya tere liye”, The lines “Chad ki saariyan, ek baariya, dil nu laiyaan ki bemariyan” from “Maa da Laadla” is the inspiration for “Chad ke sariya duniyadariyan, Maa ne de di khushiyan sariyan.” The racy “Pal pal na maane tinku jiya” has become “Jammu ka ticket kata le piya, Maiya ke darshan ko tarse jiya.” The list goes on.
Dev, an MNC employee says, “I have never typed the word ‘bhajan’ into a search engine in the recent past. But now with these funny bhajans doing the rounds, everyone is hooked. When I find more such instances, I will download them on my phone and share with friends. And considering such controversial songs are being turned into bhajans, it is surely generating a huge buzz.”
But these bhajans can sure put you on a spot, says Lavanya R., a student of Jyothismathi College of Engineering. “It’s only when I go to the temple with my parents that I listen to the bhajans playing there. If I ever heard a bhajan there which sounded like a controversial film song, then I wouldn't know how to react in front of my family. It can get pretty embarrassing.”
And now these songs are fast becoming virals. Manisha Kailas, a graduate from Aurora Degree College however, calls it a passing fad. “Although bhajans with Bollywood music may be the only way that a devotional song can make it to a youngster’s playlist, it is just a phase. There was a time when the “Hare Krishna Hare Ram” number was a big hit, but now it’s forgotten. This DK Bose bhajan too will become a huge rage until something more novel and funny comes along.”

Saifeena to check into Hyderabad Palace

It’s work-cum-leisure getaway for the Bollywood superstar couple

    Meena Iyer

Kareena Kapoor boarded a flight to Hyderabad yesterday to spend time with Saif Ali Khan who is shooting in the Charminar city for Cocktail. Bebo who has just wrapped up her talkie portions for Bodyguard has managed a three-day quick getaway with her beau who has been stationed in Hyderabad for nearly a fortnight.
A source says, “This is a work-cumleisure holiday for Saifeena. Bebo will accompany her guy on a two-day Hyderabad script-narration session by Madhur Bhandarkar and his writer Niranjan Iyengar. The latter are flying out from Mumbai to give her a narration of a slightly modified version of Heroine, the film that came to an abrupt halt because of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy reports. Filmmaker Milan Luthria will also give Kareena a script narration for Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, a film that she
will start shooting for in January 2012.”
It is said that when the unit of Cocktail packs up on July 19, Kareena and Saif will check into a palace for a day, before boarding a flight back to Mumbai on July 20. Incidentally, the palace in Hyderabad is one of the finest palaces in the city and is located on a 32-acre plot just five kilometres from the Charminar. An 18th century edifice, it has now undergone some minor changes and became a world-renowned heritage hotel in 2010.
    Kareena with Hrithik now?
There is a rumour that Imtiaz Ali will work with Hrithik Roshan in his next project. Imtiaz who’s worked with Kareena in Jab We Met, and then opted for Deepika Padukone in Love Aaj Kal had promised Bebo that he would work with her again. So will Bebo and Duggu come together once more? There are no confirmations from either side. They have been linked together and have previously acted in Yaadein, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

    PC’s ‘Me Time’

Priyanka, who turns 29 today, talks about her birthday guestlist, wishlist, cake, gifts and more....

    Tushar Joshi

Priyanka Chopra returned to the city on Saturday after a short trip to the US. She is in no mood to celebrate her birthday today, given the mood in the city following the bomb blasts. It will be a quiet and private dinner with a select few. Read on all about her special day...
What significance do birthdays have in your life?

    • Birthday’s are my ‘Me Time’. The one day when I get to do what I want and just be! And I can bully everyone around me to do my bidding! What fun!
    What plans for this birthday?

    • In the wake of the events this week, don’t really think I’ll do much... possibly just a quiet dinner with the people who matter most to me.
    Any favourite cake?

    • I’m not really much of a cake person... I do, however, enjoy cutting them and smashing them on people’s faces on their birthday! I don’t really have a favourite type except if you count Christmas plum cake. Oops! now someone has to go find me one for my birthday!
After cutting the cake, who do you feed the first piece to?

    • Myself!
Your most memorable birthday till date?

    • As far back as I can remember, every birthday was a special event and every one of them remains a crystal clear memory even today. That’s because my parents set that benchmark... leaving no stone unturned and creating a tradition of ensuring that my birthdays were everything I dreamed of... year after year.
A birthday gift you cherish the most....

    • It’s not really the gift but the thought and the effort that goes behind it that is most important to me. And I have had many of those moments!
If you could invite any three persons on your birthday, who would you choose?

    • In no particular order... Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga and the poet Rumi (if he were alive today).
How do you deal with friends who forget your birthday?

    • Do I really need to answer that question? Obviously, it’s unacceptable and there is a heavy price to pay to make it up to me!
Your take on actresses who hide their age...

    • To each her own!
If you had to celebrate your birthday on Twitter, how would the party look like ?

    • A huge, 24-hour, worldwide pyjama party...
One wish that tops your list this year.

    • I wish the carnage and shedding of the blood of innocent people would stop!
