When Sanjay and Shah Rukh pulled a prank on PC
Few days ago, it was speculated that Priyanka Chopra has shot a peppy song and a crucial action scene with Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt for Ra.One.
Priyanka admits she has shot a crucial scene with Sanjay Dutt, but denies it’s an item song. “It’s just a scene. And I don’t see why anyone should be running worried about it. We all have our plates full. We’re all professionals here. We’re not school kids, please,” she rues.
Apparently, being a close friend, Shah Rukh had asked her to come on board for the stylised stunt-based scene, created with Sanjay and her in mind. “There’s just a month to go for the film. I’d like people to find out on their own if I really share screen space with Shah Rukh or not. I won’t deny that he was on the sets when I was shooting, but I share screen-space with Sanju sir. If I told you everything right away, wouldn’t it break the suspense too soon,” laughs Priyanka, who has recently shot an episode of Live My Life for UTV Stars. The actor spent two days, including her birthday in July, shooting the said sequence.
She recalls that Sanjay and Shah Rukh together pulled a prank on her that had her in tears. “I had just landed from America. It was a complicated costume and I hadn’t even done the fittings. So, I headed to the sets where Manish Malhotra (designer) checked the measurements and sent the costume for alteration,” reminisces Priyanka.
“Meanwhile, I checked with Anubhav (director Sinha) and Shah Rukh if everything was fine. They seemed cool and continued with the shoot. By the time I was ready, I was three hours late. I profusely apologised to them, but they asked me to apologise to Sanju sir instead. I didn’t want to go because I’m scared of him, but they pushed me to do it.”
When Sanjay responded rudely, Priyanka broke down. “He sounded so upset that I couldn’t hold on. When he saw me crying, he yelled out to Shah Rukh. He said, Arrey maine nahi kiya! (I didn’t do it),” she giggles. “Shah Rukh, meanwhile, went and hid behind someone to watch from a distance. Eventually, we completed the shoot as per schedule and let me make it clear again, no one is upset!”

Ra.One, Don 2, Agent Vinod and Ek Tha Tiger challenged?

In the coming months, Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Salman Khan would be ready with their VFX laden action thrillers. Whether it is Ra.One or Don 2, Agent Vinod or Ek Tha Tiger, each of them has been mounted on a huge scale. However, Aazaan, a film with a largely newcomer cast, is aiming at throwing a huge surprise by releasing much before these three films and claiming to set up a huge challenge.
"While each of the aforementioned biggies has been in the news much before it even went on floors, Aazaan quietly went about its shooting that lasted for close to a year. Other than the fact that it too belongs to a similar action thriller genre, Aazaan has quite a few other common elements too. Just like Agent Vinod and Ek Tha Tiger, it too has a spy and espionage angle to it. Also, it is replete with special effects, as is the case with Ra.One. The thrills are on the same level as Don 2," says a film maker who is a specialist when it comes to making slick thrillers and has managed to catch a sneak peek of the film.
Starring newcomer Sachiin Joshi, the film has been mounted on a huge scale and boasts of a multi crore budget.
"So much has been said and written about how the shooting of Shahrukh, Saif and Salman starrers have been taken to different parts of the world. Do you know that Aazaan could pretty much be holding a record when it comes to shooting abroad? The film, which deals with biological warfare, a subject hitherto unexplored in Bollywood, has been spread across France, Morocco, China, Germany, Poland, South Africa and Thailand to name a few. It is huge by all means," a source from the production unit adds.
Despite the fact that the film certainly looks bigger than many other Bollywood flicks that mark the launch of a newcomer, it can't be denied that with the kind of star power that Shahrukh, Salman or Saif boast of, the scale of one of their films is elevated in a big way on its own.
"No one is competing with the Khans or their films here," says Sachiin. "They are huge stars and we are just starting off. But then, we haven't spared any expenses on investing in the script and making our film a visual treat. We have gone to places where no one has shot before. We have a lot to offer before other biggies with Khans arrive. Who knows, our film could well turn out to be an unsuspecting benchmark for many to follow?"
Well, we hope the confidence is indeed well placed.
Mausam release delayed
There is bad news for filmbuffs. One of the most awaited releases, Shahid-Sonam starrer Mausam is not hitting theatres this SB: Friday. If sources are to be believed, the film's release date has been pushed to September 23.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted a few hours ago, "Okay, all those asking, #Mausam is NOT releasing on 16 Sept. Pankaj Kapur, Shahid & Sonam will make an official statement at 5.30 pm today."
He further tweeted after some time, "#Mausam new date 23 September."
Sources from a TV channel says that the producers failed to meet the deadline for the movie's international print, which had to be dispatched by Wednesday. The movie was supposed to release simultaneously in India and abroad.

Imran Khan finally files PIL against drinking age limit

Imran Khan may be basking in the success of his latest film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan but he still has not forgotten his promise. It may be recollected that couple of months ago Imran had decided to file a PIL against the issue of the drinking age limit raised to 25 years. Now the actor has gone ahead and done the same.
Imran was at the Bombay High Court earlier today to file the PIL challenging Maharashtra government's decision raising the legal age limit for consuming alcohol from 21 to 25 years. The actor said that even though he doesn't drink or endorse alcohol, he believes that India being a democratic country, every citizen should have the fundamental right to do what he feels like doing. The actor said that every adult is mature enough to decide what is right or wrong for him and the Government should leave that choice to the citizens.
The PIL would come up for hearing in due course of time.

Trying hard to look genuine with his robotic moves and impassive expressions, SRK appears on screen crooning a romantic number, with lady love Kareena Kapoor strumming the guitar on one side. Now with that weirdly coiled hairdo SRK doesn’t even have to try to make us crack up. Partially unkempt, partially Afro, we wonder what the hairstylist was thinking while giving him this funny look. Or maybe SRK never really hired a hairstylist. We don’t really blame him – after all, after spending a huge amount of moolah on international sensation Akon and fancy special effects for the film, the first thing on anybody’s mind would be cost-cutting. Also, the style is strikingly similar to Vir Das’ messy hair in Delhi Belly. We wouldn’t be surprised to discover some day that Vir passed the same wig on to SRK, furtively of course, under the table. Well, we can’t really say if SRK fans are going to love him in this new avatar or not, but we can already see professional stylists contorting their faces fiendishly, thinking that they would have done a better job, hands down! Hey Shahrukh, if we can forgive you for those awkward dance moves, for the umpteen fashion disasters, the stammering and stuttering, we can also forget this style crime you committed - our love knows no bounds, after all!
Lady Gaga may attend ‘RA.One’ premiere!
It would be great to see the Born This Way artiste at the premiere of RA.One, especially in one of her outrageous costumes
Shahrukh Khan is not willing to leave any opportunity to promote his upcoming ambitious film, RA.One. He has included many international musicians and technicians for making this big project successful. What’s more, his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment recently tweeted “Breaking News: Lady Gaga may attend RA.One premiere!” If indeed Lady Gaga attends the premiere, it will be a first. A few days back, SRK had announced in an interview that he is planning to coordinate with some national as well as international superstars (looks like there are going to be more names apart from Lady Gaga). SRK had said that when he was chatting with the Lady about a song he wanted her to do, her manager said, ‘Lady Gaga wants to introduce her audience to you and she wants you to introduce her to your audience’. SRK is only happy that here is an artiste who believes in simple business, just like him! As international artiste Akon’s song Chammak challo is already a hit, now if Lady Gaga also lends her voice for a song in RA.One, it will be a double treat for King Khan and the audiences alike. Also, it would be great to see the artiste Poker Face-ed at the premiere of RA.One, especially in one of her outrageous costumes!
