Big B suffers from hairline rib fracture
New Delhi: Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan, who suffered a minor injury while shooting Ram Gopal Varma's 'Department', says he has got a minor fracture in the ribcage.
Bachchan, 68, resumed shooting just two days after he got hurt while filming an action sequence.
"So early morning before setting off to shoot I spoke to the doctor and he advised we do an X-Ray after my return from work. Off to Nanavati and under the scanner and out of it in minutes and now confirmed... there is a fracture in the rib…albeit hairline," Bachchan wrote on his blog.
Bachchan says he has to bear the pain for next one month as the ailment has no treatment.
"It cannot be given any treatment, for, such ailments are left to heal on their own and this one shall be no exception. That takes care of the next 3-4 weeks because that is the recognized healing period. Bear the pain and that is it...," he added.
Bachchan's injury comes soon after his son Abhishek hurt himself near the eye while shooting for Rohit Shetty's 'Bol Bachchan' in Jaipur.
It was easy to play a journo: Minissha Lamba
After her last release Bheja Fry 2, Bollywood babe Minissha Lamba is all excited for her next flick Hum Tum Shabanawhich will release shortly.
Ask her about the film and she says, " Hum Tum Shabanais a comedy film revolving around three characters played by Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and me. I am playing Shabana who takes part in a local beauty pageant as a contestant who doesn't know how to walk, how to talk and just comes ram bharose.
Thus, both Tusshar and Shreyas try to train her and in the process indulge in a competition to get Shabana. And their battle to woo the girl turns into a factor to lose her. So, it's a romantic comedy in which both the boys fight for her." Being the the only lady in the film, did Minissha face all the pranks alone? She says, "Yes, both Tusshar and Shreyas used to play pranks with me. But all the pranks we did off the shoot are also incorporated in the film. We felt why to waste such humour and fun that's coming out naturally.
Hum Tum Shabana' is a class apart: Minissha
When Minissha Lamba gets started on her films, she does so with the air of someone who knows exactly what she wants to say and it is easy to imagine her as both producer and director, taking complete command of a movie set. The only difference is that she isn't yet ready to sit on the crew chairs.
Here, she decides to bare her heart about comedies in general, how she fares at them and her takes on women-centric roles. She also declares that her next release 'Hum Tum Shabana' stands in a class of its own:
Title roles vs title songs
I haven't done any title roles but I've been fortunate enough to get author backed roles in movies like 'Yahaan' -- the movie was originally going to be titled Ada, then there's 'Well Done Abba', 'Anamika' and now in 'Hum Tum Shabana'. I've had title songs though (smiles) like 'Naam Ada Likhna', 'Soniya' from 'Kidnap', 'Jogi Maahi' from 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' and here 'Hey Na Na Na Shabana' from 'Hum Tum Shabana'.
John Abraham hits out at the reality show wave - Entertainment - DNA
Even though he doesn’t shy away from promoting his films on reality shows, actor John Abraham has taken off on reality television shows in his upcoming film.
Though it’s just his screen character that lashes out against the reality shows, John hits out on the fact about how Indian youth is over-occupied with the reality-show wave that is sweeping across.
“The otherwise reticent John has taken off on reality shows through a scene in his forthcoming film. Essaying the role of ACP Yashvardhan, John in a confrontation scene, talks about how today’s youth do not have ambitions to jointhe police or army, but are the first to jump the gun when it comes to participating in reality shows,” says a source.
A section of the select peer group to whom the film was shown earlier had apparently raised a red flag when they came to know about the scene. But with the approval of the Censor Board, the producers are going ahead with the dialogues. Apparently, John too shares the same view and hence keeping the dialogues was a decision taken unanimously by the producers in accordance with John.
Says a source, “John is of the opinion that today’s youth need to wake up and do something for society and has spoken about it in a scene he shares with Genelia. He has never liked visiting reality shows but since the production had already committed dates to a talent reality show. John visited them, after much convincing.”
I've a great rapport with John: Genelia
By Baiju NT [September 23, 2011]
Ever since the upcoming Bollywood romantic flick Force hit the floors, rumours started spreading about its lead stars John Abraham and Genelia, from their marriage to a couple of bold and intimate scenes in the flick.
Notably, this was the first time Genelia was showing her skin; talking about her intimate scenes with John in the film, the actress said: "I have known and worked with John before, so we have a great rapport. However, it was of course still a little awkward but we both focused completely on the scene at hand."
"What actually eased us out was knowing that our director Nishikant Kamath was in control, thus ensuring a more relaxed atmosphere on the set and a clean and aesthetic end product on screen," she added.
Besides, Genelia is all praise for John, saying he is an extremely disciplined co-star. "He has a very positive aura around him and enjoys the work he does. He is a lot of fun to be around and working with him was, as always, very enjoyable. In all honesty, I can’t really compare the leading men I have worked with, as they have all been so great in their own ways."
