Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum to be mad, naughty and entertaining
    By Joginder Tuteja, October 11, 2011 - 10:39 IST
It isn't just The Dirty Picture, which is keeping Ekta Kapoor and her team busy. Work has begun on the sequel of the boisterous surprise 2005 hit Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, directed by Sangeeth Sivan.

"Ever since Kya Kool Hai Hum turned into a success, producer Ekta Kapoor was keen to do a sequel", informs a trade source. "Writer-director Sachin Yardi who has been finalised for the film has been clearly told that the sequel should not be vulgar. It's meant to be fun in a young sort of way - on the lines of Dhamaal, Masti and Housefull."

The Balaji team had been searching for a subject for long and finally approved the cracker of an idea that Sachin Yardi came up with. Incidentally, Sachin had written the original as well. So impressed was the team with what Sachin had written that he was immediately entrusted with the responsibility of directing the film as well.

Confirms Tusshar, "Yes, Sachin is directing the sequel. We have been in regular touch for long and the idea that he has come up for the sequel is going to take the Kyaa Kool Hain Hum franchise many notches up. The full-fledged shoot commences in November this year."

Adds Riteish, "There has been talk on how to take the franchise forward in terms of its content. The entire adult aspect has been looked into with regard to the kind of distance we want to travel. Accordingly a call has been taken on how much to extend or hold back on the jokes."

"Though Delhi Belly has fared well, the makers of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum may not necessarily go down the totally wild path but have decided to retain the film in the naughty, tongue-in-cheek and youthful space, which will be evident when the film's communication breaks," adds the source.

‘I’D LIKE TO WORK WITH VIJAY AGAIN’

…says actress Priyanka Chopra, who was in the city recently

    Rohit Panikker

Priyanka Chopra has been busy. With highly-anticipated flicks like Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 — The Chase Continues, Agneepath and Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahani among her current projects, the actress was in the city this week, tending to business as usual while catching a cricket match.
After having made her on-screen debut with a Kollywood flick, Priyanka says she is looking at doing more work in Tamil. “I’d love to do a Tamil film again. If I were to do a Tamil film, there are so many leading men I’d love to work with. But I’d like to work with Vijay again. Since he’s my first hero, I have a soft spot for him,” she laughs. “I’m a huge Suriya fan as well! And Rajini sir, definitely! That’d be an honour.”
Rubbishing rumours that she has signed on the remake of the Malayalam hit Rajavinte Makan, Priyanka says that she hasn’t been offered any movies she’s liked from the south. “All films take root in the culture they are made in or exposed to. Language has never been a barrier. It just has to be a film that I really like!”
Ask her about her observations on Tamil cinema, and she says, “I love Tamil film music; it’s just amazing! Then, I love the action and the dance sequences in the films here. My biggest worry is that if I do a Tamil film, I don’t know how I’ll live up to the heroes who dance so well here.”
A self-confessed foodie, Priyanka loves the fish curry in Chennai. “I am a huge fan of the fish curry you get here. In fact, that’s the first thing I ordered once I landed in the city!” But her love for the Chennai’s cuisine is not the only connect the young actress has with the city. “I have family here, but I’ve never really seen Chennai. It’s always been from the airport to the hotel! It’d be nice if someone would take me around the city one day!”
Priyanka’s also been busy with her upcoming musical project that is slated to release next year. “It’s a pop album, and all the songs have either written or co-written by me. I’ve been working on it in between my schedules. In fact, I’m heading to Los Angeles in a few days to finish work on the album. In any case, it’s still very organic. A lot of work has to go into it still. It feels like being in nursery school again. I don’t know anything about making music, so it’s all new for me,” she signs off.
