Very rarely actors badmouth movies they are a part of, especially if they are playing the protagonist. But the non-conformist that Naseersaab is, he has openly expressed his dissatisfaction over working in a film like The Blueberry Hunt wherein he plays the role of a Marijuana planter.

Jacqueline Fernandez prefers ‘Race 2′ over ‘Krrish 2′

The Murder 2 lady, Jacqueline Fernandez prefers to be part of an ensemble cast than play the bad guy’s girlfriend. And we don’t think it’s because she did not want to kiss Hrithik Roshan!

Most women would give an arm and leg to lock lips with the Greek god of Indian cinema, Hrithik Roshan even if it is just onscreen, but not Jacqueline Fernandez. The Murder 2 lady is no longer part of superhero sequel Krrish 2 as she was required to kiss Hrithik Roshan in it. By the way, rumour has it that this condition is a result of her reported boyfriend Sajid Khan’s possessive pangs. But our overactive minds feel there is more than what you read in the papers or hear in closed circles. Wethinks, Jacqueline chickened out of playing a baddie’s arm candy as it could hamper her chances of playing a leading lady in the future.

When Ranbir Kapoor grabbed John Abraham’s ‘Rockstar’

Not many know that Imtiaz Ali wrote the Rockstar script long ago and approached the handsome model-turned-actor to play the title role. But the film got stalled when the Dostana dude’s career started its downslide

Recently Ranbir Kapoor revealed in an interview that he pushed Imtiaz Ali to make Rockstar. Not many know that the filmmaker had written the script seven or eight years ago and the young star wasn’t the first actor to be approached for it. However, RK junior, who was starting his career around the same time with Saawariya, had heard the story of Rockstar from a friend. And he was pretty impressed even with the two-line description.

'Andaz Apna Apna' remake 'Pasand Apni Apni'

Classic 1994 comdey 'Andaz Apna Apna' is being remade by the original director Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled 'Pasand Apni Apni'. The hit movie which featured Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, won't see the dynamic duo back again but Aamir's nephew, Imran Khan has been cast for the movie along with Ranbir Kapoor.

Those who have watched the movie will know that Aamir's character received more footage than Salman's did. And according to reports Aamir's role hasn't been given to his nephew but to Ranbir while Imran will play Salman's role. Imran is said to be happy with the casting as he didn't want to step into his uncles character thus attracting a whole lot of comparisons, he has however demanded that their be equal footage of both male leads.

Shah Rukh Khan unveils his 'Don 2' look in 'Ra.One'

Trust Shah Rukh Khan to devise the most innovative ways to publicise his films. In a bid to cash in on the prevalent Ra. One hysteria to promote his forthcoming film Don 2, SRK has included in the former, a sneak-peek of his look in the latter.
A certain dream sequence in Ra. One will feature SRK sporting his Don 2 avatar.
This allegedly is being done as an advance publicity stunt to draw the audience's attention towards Don 2 , and whet their appetite in its anticipation.
"The scene will be shown in a dream sequence of G. One's (Shah Rukh's character) son Prateek. SRK will be seen with his long hair tied in a ponytail at the back," a source said.
So who thought of it, we ask. "They were discussing that he should sport a different look in the scene, when SRK came up with the idea of the Don 2 look," the source added.
There's also speculation that Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra will make guest appearances in the film, which hits theatres on Wednesday.
"Sanjay and Priyanka will be seen in the same dream sequence Prateek has. In the dream, Sanjay plays the villain pitted against G. One and Priyanka Chopra plays G. One's girlfriend. Sanjay and SRK then fight in a duel filmed with great visual effects," the source said.
What remains to be seen now is if the effort eventually scores with the audience or not.

India Has Never Seen Anything Like Ra.One Before: Yash Chopra

Koimoi.com caught up with master filmmaker Yash Chopra after he attended a special cast and crew screening of Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One on Sunday (23rd October). Incidentally, Yash Chopra was only one of the three selected people who got to watch the film, besides the superhero film’s cast and crew. The other two were Yashji’s wife, Pamela, and director-producer Karan Johar.

Following are excerpts from the conversation where Chopra talks about how Ra.One will change the face of Hindi cinema and about his plans for his next Shah Rukh Khan starrer.

Shah Rukh Khan has done a job that is unprecedented in Hindi cinema. And the good thing is that the film does not have just high-end visual effects wizardry, but also packs in a lot of emotional punches. After the first fifteen minutes are over, every sequence of the movie is a highlight.

Shah Rukh Khan must be commended for the massive scale and superior quality of the visual effects he has included in Ra.One, something which is unprecedented in Indian cinema. This film stands a very good chance of changing the face of Hindi cinema forever, especially because the Indian audience has never seen something like this before.

Asked when he would start his film starring Shah Rukh Khan, the filmmaker revealed, “I told Shah Rukh to come when he is done with all this marketing stuff for Ra.One. Shah Rukh Khan told me, he would come and meet me on 1st November to discuss the dates. But I told him, there was no need to come and meet me, I would wait for as long as he felt relaxed enough to shoot the new film. Come when you are completely free and relaxed.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali gift storms UAE

Showman, crowdpuller, maverick… call him what you will, Shah Rukh Khan will remain the quintessential favourite for millions of his fans. For more than two decades, he has straddled Bollywood like a colossus, as he churned out one blockbuster after another, right from Baazigar to the recent My Name is Khan.

Fans of the star wait with bated breath watch his latest film, Ra.One, which hits theatres in the UAE on Wednesday.

The film, made with a production budget of Dhs73million, is easily Khan’s most ambitious film to date, raising the stakes for the 45-year-old actor and his Red Chillies Entertainment production company. The release is timed to coincide with the celebrations of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.

The sheer persona of King Khan fired up his fans at the premiere. As one avid Shahrukh buff said, “Ra.One is the best Diwali gift that I can think of. I can’t wait to see it.”

He has a wizard-like effect on his fans, particularly women. When I first saw him at a press conference in the not-too-distant past, there were squeals of delight from the girls in the crowd when they saw him in the flesh. Yes, he is a charmer: he has a way with the female gender which is ineffable. He wowed the audience with his lethal mix of sparkling wit and humour.

In Ra.One, Khan plays G. One or the Good One, who fights the villain, Ra.One, played by Arjun Rampal, with highly charged bolts of electricity. The essence of the plot being the clash between good and evil, the family extravaganza has all the elements of fun, dance and thrills to spice up the Diwali spirit.

The villain’s name is taken from the mythical Indian demon Raavan, from which the title of the film is coined, provides fans with enough curiosity to go and see for themselves what the much-hyped about film has to offer.
Leading lady Kareena Kapoor, who was also in Dubai for the launch, plays Khan’s partner, adding to the glamour quotient of the latest festival attraction.

Khan has worked hard to promote the film, making appearances in Mumbai and then travelling to Dubai, where he believes he can “feel the love here.” From here, he goes to London and Toronto for the movie’s premiere events.

His earlier film My Name is Khan also premiered here and did well, which brings us back to the fact that Khan does enjoy the undiluted support of his fans and well wishers from this part of the world. “Dubai has always given me and my acting fraternity a huge boost. I always remember the warmth and kindness that all of you show me. I feel the love.”

In the same vein, “the film’s message,” Khan said, “is about goodness and love. If you have goodness in your heart, you will always be a superhero.”

The red carpet leading to the Grand Cineplex Cinema entrance was lined with hundreds of screaming fans who waited to get a glimpse of the superstar. All they wanted was to see their hero and applaud his efforts — experiencing his charisma and unbridled charm was the bonus they did not expect.
