    Most dangerous celebrities!

Clicking on the names of your favourite star could end up crashing your PC

    Tanya Datta

She may be sweet as sugar, but Katrina Kaif has been named India’s most dangerous celebrity. Confused? Cyber criminals often use the names of popular celebrities to lure people to sites that are actually laden with malicious software. Anyone looking to download the latest videos or pictures of their favourite celebrity could end up with a malware-riddled computer instead of trendy content. Says Venkatasubrahmanyam Krishnapur, Senior Director, McAfee India, “Malicious software within these sites are designed to steal your passwords, bank details and personal information. Cyber criminals are now also disguising malicious software in shortened URLs that can spread virally on social networking sites. Consumers should be careful when searching for their favourite celebrity on social networking platforms.”

“I’d rather see the happy side to this and that is I have a place in the minds of so many people who search for me online. About attaching viruses to my pictures and videos, of course that is sad and I wish people would not do that.”
    Katrina Kaif

“It’s sad that hackers are encoding malware into celebrity pictures. I would advise fans to only download legit pictures from official sites to avoid being hacked.” Deepika Padukone

    Kareena Kapoor

“It’s strange... because I am anything but dangerous!”
    John Abraham

“As per online statistics, I am one of the popular celebrity downloads and not the most downloaded celebrity. Any site that claims me to be the No.1 is doing that to entice users to download images which are illegal or pirated, and thus layered with malware.”
    Bipasha Basu

    NON-FILMI NAMES ON THE LIST

    Yuvraj Singh

    MS Dhoni

    Anna Hazare

    Rahul Gandhi

PR pest arrested for fight claims

He circulated tall tales of Sayali’s fight with Amitabh Bachchan in the media

    Abhijit Sathe

The arrest of a public relations professional who cooked up stories to promote his actress client without her knowledge has exposed the deep rot in the image management business. On Monday, Anant Narayan Rane of Creme Talent Management was arrested by the Mumbai Cyber Crime Police station for circulating scurrilous stories about actress Sayali Bhagat. He was produced in court and has been remanded to police custody till November 23.
Bhagat was introduced to Rane in July this year at a function and in August, Rane approached the actor with an advertisement offer from a cellular service operator. According to Bhagat, she signed the contract produced by Rane after reading it. The contract said that Rane would not reveal any information about the actor or the deal without Bhagat’s prior permission.
However, in subsequent interviews of Bhagat which Rane’s firm had arranged with media organisations, the actor was asked to confirm about a tiff she allegedly had with Amitabh Bachchan, which she denied. Subsequent reports about the actor published in print media said that the information about Bhagat’s alleged tiff with Bachchan was provided by Rane’s firm.
Worse, Bhagat found that the PR firm’s portal had carried stories about her fights with some of Bollywood’s top stars. “Sayali Bhagat was infuriated by the reports as she neither faced misbehaviour from top actors, nor had she passed on this information to Rane,” said an officer of the Cyber Crime Cell. Bhagat then lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime police and Rane was arrested on Monday from Gurgaon.
Rane, like Mehraj Rehman earlier who harassed a succession of actress and also Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata, used to routinely spread stories about alleged affair between him and actresses. Minissha Lamba was also one of his victims.

Riteish-Genelia wedding to coincide with Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya?
    By Joginder Tuteja, November 22, 2011 - 14:00 IST
Click above for more movie stills As is known by one and all by now, the good news is that Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza have admitted to being a couple. And even better news is that their next release would see the two of them together as love birds. However, the best news here is the sound of wedding bells which may well be heard around the same time when their upcoming film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya releases.

"Now that the Riteish and Genelia are out in open, it makes the whole scenario all the more clear", says a source, "It is but natural that their film Tere Naa Love Ho Gaya was well planned to release around the same time when the couple was looking at getting married. To have the release of your film coincide with the most special occasion in your life comes with quite a few benefits. Above all, it acts as a good promotional peg as well."

The theory has a definite point here since a few years back even Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai announced their togetherness days before the release of Guru. This gave a huge mileage to the film and also made a definite contribution to the film's success.

"Whether a couple is together or they break up, a film generally benefits", says another industry observer, "We saw how Jab We Met suddenly came into spotlight when Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor broke up. Now that Kareena is all set to marry Saif early next year, it is more or less certain that the event would coincide with the release of their Agent Vinod. Stars always make news, more so when they are in love and come together in a film. Wedding announcement around the same time acts as a cherry on the cake."

Guess the makers of Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya understood this as well and not just a major portion of this quickie was wrapped up in record time, even the film's promotion has started months in advance with the release of their song 'Main Vaari Jaanva'. As reported earlier, it was a clear hint that Riteish and Genelia were serious about their wedding plans and the song just added as an early indication.

"Yes, Riteish has already announced that the wedding would take place early next year. Now it's a matter of time that the final date is announced soon as well. Chances are quite high that it would be around 17th February, the Valentine weekend, in which the film releases. It is going to be one lovey-dovey season for sure if the couple walks the red carpet of the film's premier that could well act as their wedding reception", quips a common friend.

David Dhawan to remake Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Chupke Chupke

    By Subhash K. Jha, November 22, 2011 - 13:54 IST

David Dhawan suddenly seems to have discovered a new formula for success. He is now into doing remakes of classic comedies. Even as he gets ready to do a remake of Sai Paranjpye's Chashme Buddoor, news comes that Dhawan would be doing his own take on Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1975 comedy Chupke Chupke.

Apparently, David who has so far never worked with Abhishek Bachchan has offered the actor his father Amitabh Bachchan's role of the scatter-brained Botany professor from Chupke Chupke.

Writer-director Rumi Jaffery who has written any number of films for David Dhawan in the past has been given the job of writing the new version of Chupke Chupke.

Says Jaffery, "It's a big challenge for me. Hrishida's Chupke Chupke was written by Gulzar Saab. And now I've been given the task of writing the new adaptation of Chupke Chupke 36 years after Hrishida's film. How do I retain the flavour of the original and still make it palatable to contemporary tastes? Fortunately, after working with David on nearly 20 films we share a great comfort level. And we're both big fans of Hrishikesh Mukherjee."

Apparently, the original comedy on infidelity will be completely re-written, keeping in mind the act that the definition of infidelity has changed over the years.
