The Ranbir factor in Shahid-Nargis love story

Mumbai: This might come as a shocker but if rumours are to be believed, actor Ranbir Kapoor was the one who introduced the new love birds in Tinsel Town – Nargis Fakhri and Shahid Kapoor to each other.

Ranbir who was at one point of time linked to his ‘Rockstar’ co-star introduced her to Shahid at one of his parties. And the duo hit off instantly. So much so that now the latest buzz is that Nargis has shifted to Shahid’s apartment.

Ranbir and Shahid’s friendship is also recent. The two actors had met formally before but bonded during this year’s Zee Cine Awards in Macau. The camaraderie between the two actors has increased ever since then and Shahid was also invited to be a part of Ranbir’s first world tour.

Ever since Nargis met Shahid, the two have been spending a lot of time together. Nargis is a constant factor in all of Shahid’s parties including the famous birthday bash in Goa where Fakhri went a day ahead with Shahid to organize the party.

While Ranbir continues to be linked to his exes Katrina (they are reportedly back together) and Deepika(they have become best of friends on the sets of Ayan Mukherjee’s next), he is making sure that his ‘good friend’ Nargis also gets ample attention from Shahid. Although the couple in question has denied the link up, sources close to the two have admitted that they are indeed in a relationship.

Guess, we will just have to wait and watch if this one lasts or fizzles out.

No Anushka-Raina romance

The Anushka Sharma-Suresh Raina link-up is creating a buzz everywhere.

According to the latest story doing the rounds, the two apparently met a few months back in London when Team India was playing there and have been keeping in touch since. So, is this another cricketeractress romance in the making?

But Anushka, who is busy in Rajkot shooting for her flick that's being directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, is seeing red. Her spokesperson states that she is being falsely linked to Suresh Raina and there is absolutely no romance brewing.

Since the actress' brother, Karnesh, is also a state-level player, her connection to cricket and cricketers always seemed to be strong. Her friendship with Dhoni and his wife has also had tongues wagging. However, her spokesperson clarifies, "Anushka's only connection to cricket dates back to watching the World Cup final last year and her friendship with Sakshi Rawat, M S Dhoni's wife. While it is true that Anushka's brother did play the sport at a state level, Anushka herself is not inclined towards cricket at all and in fact, cannot even place the cricketer she is supposedly meant to be good friends with."

This is not the first time that the dashing cricketer has been linked to a pretty lady. Earlier, he was allegedly seeing Poorna Patel, Union Minister Praful Patel's daughter.

Priyanka to romance Ram Charan Teja in 'Zanjeer' remake

Glamorous Priyanka Chopra has been approached to play the female lead in ‘Zanjeer’ remake. She will step into Jaya Bachchan’s shoes and get into the role of Jaya Bachchan. If Piggy Chops says yes then she will set a hatrick as after ‘Don’ and ‘Agneepath’, this will be her third film to star in an official remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s yesteryears blockbuster. By default, Priyanka has become an obvious choice of the remaking of Big B’s blockbuster.

It is rumored that the actress has been offered an whopping amount of Rs 11 crore. The film will be produced by Prakash Mehra’s son Amit Mehra and Reliance Entertainment. It will go on floor on 13th April at Film City. The film will be directed by Apoorva Lakia.

The angry young man role that Big B has enacted in the film and was applauded for his performance will be played by south star Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja.

Apparently, Priyanka Chopra liked the script and she has given her nod. It is like a challenge for her to reprise the role of talented Jaya Bachchan.

In the original ‘Zanjeer’ Jaya played a street performer but here Priyanka will play a lively NRI cafe owner.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy live in concert

All roads led to Kalamandir on on March 20th evening. Reason? It's not everyday that you get to hear Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy live in concert!

While Kolkata was thrilled to the core, city boy Purbayan Chatterjee had a reason to break into an ear-to-ear grin. The sitarist, who was part of the show, did a solo recital to "Sapno se bhare naina". "I've performed with Shankar before. He has been part of my String Struck shows, but this is my first with SEL. Also, Bollywood is a different realm - it's on a huge scale," said Purbayan. He was also floored by the audience response and rightly so. "I always thought the Kolkata audience to be more musically-inclined. Discerning is the right word to describe the audience here. But this is for the first time that I saw them break into an impromptu jig as SEL belted out one chartbuster after another," he added.



Bollywood Ho!

So, how was it getting into the Bolly mode? Purbayan said tips from Shankar came handy. "At a String Struck show in New Jersey, when Shankar took to singing "Desi girl" on an audience request, I thought of taking a break on stage. That's when he told me, 'Iss ki bhi adaat dal lo'."



London calling

Purbayan is now looking forward to the Alchemy Festival in London in April, where Shankar will again be joining him on stage. By then, he is hoping to get used to all the glitz that Bolly shows bring along.

Vivek stopped being choosy about his films

It seems Vivek Oberoi's hectic schedules are taking a toll on his family life. Now, it is learnt that the actor is yearning to spend some quality time with his family which has become next to impossible given his back-to-back shooting dates.

According to an industry observer, ''Vivek has stopped being too choosy about his films. Currently, the fact is that he is even busier than most of the so called big stars however he is not going around the town blowing his own trumpet.''

One of Vivek's most awaited films is ZILLA GHAZIABAD in which he will be seen opposite Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. While Vivek is getting busier with his films, let's hope in the midst of it he gets to spend some quality family time too.

Amitabh Bachchan congratulates Soumitra Chatterjee

Stars poured in their congratulatory messages for Soumitra Chatterjee after he was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: 'Soumitra Chatterjee gets the Dada Saheb Phalke Award .. congratulations Soumitra da .. such a magnificent journey in cinema.'

Madhur Bhandarkar wrote: 'Great news to hear that SOUMITRAda been honored with Phalke Award. A half a century of Glorious Acting Career,Congrats Dada !'

A R Rahman had a brainstorming session with Mani Ratnam for bilingual film Kadal. 'Brainstorming with Mani Ratnam in the middle of the sea, down in the south of India,' he wrote with the picture (above).

Director Kunal Kolhi may judge a reality show this year. 'I've judged 2 reality shows so far.Can judge in between films. Maybe this year you'll see me judge one ' he wrote.

The last schedule of Vikram Bhatt's 1920 has been postponed. Aftab Shivdasani updated: 'The last sched of 1920 has been postponed to end apr so got some more time to work on my physiotherapy :)'
