Irrfan Khan and Aditi Rao pair up for a rustic romcom
Aditi Rao Hydari, last seen in London Paris New York, is all set to share screen space with Irrfan Khan for a film directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Anjum Rizvi. The film is a romantic comedy set in Lucknow.
Irrfan and Aditi have earlier worked together in Sudhir Mishra's Yeh Saali Zindagi but they were not paired together.
When asked, director Shivam Nair said, "Irrfan plays a member of Saraswati Brass band that goes for weddings in Lucknow and he keeps on checking and wooing girls attending the wedding. People will see him in a light role after a long gap. I always had Irrfan in mind even while writing the script."
About this unusual pair of Aditi with Irrfan, the director says, "We were looking for a young girl to play a character of a street smart girl. Aditi suits the character perfectly. The pair would be one of the highlights of the film."
The film is yet untitled and slated to go on floors soon. It will be shot in Lucknow and will have a very earthy rustic language and flavor of Lucknow.
Is there a storm brewing between KJo and Priyanka?
These cryptic tweets from Karan Johar have sparked intense speculation about a possible feud between the producer-director and Priyanka Chopra.
Rumour has it that Priyanka has found herself at the receiving end of a hate campaign among the inner circle of Bollywood, based on whisperings of an affair between her and Don 2 co-star Shah Rukh Khan.
While there is silence from Priyanka herself, an unnamed associate has reportedly ascribed the anti-Priyanka campaign to a high powered producer-director who was "feeding her cupcakes" at a party only for Priyanka to later find out that he had made derogatory remarks about her.
Is this mysterious producer-director Karan Johar? And will this be the next episode in the Bollywood star wars? If Priyanka maintains her dignified silence, then probably not. But we do remember a time when PC let slip her famed diplomacy, ironically on Koffee With Karan, to aim a barbed comment at arch-rival Kareena Kapoor.

Salman and I are not racing horses to compete: Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar gives a stern reply to being compared with Salman Khan as the numero uno action hero.
Akshay Kumar returns to 'action' with Rowdy Rathore, an action film directed by Prabhudeva, a genre which was his forte as a newcomer and which established him as quintessential Bollywood's 'khiladi'.
The action hero tag has however been given to Salman Khan off late after his back-to-back action hits at the box office. With Wanted, Dabangg and Bodyguard, Salman Khan has become a force to reckon with in Bollywood.
With Akshay taking a much needed hiatus from comedy and making a comeback to action, comparison with Salman was inevitable but Akshay did not appreciate it.
At the music launch of the film which was held at Jambori maidan, Worli Akshay told the press, "Salman and I are not some racing horses of Mahalakshmi race course to compete with each other. He is doing good films and we are friends. We don't think about who's number 1, 2, 3! I am returning to action after 7 years and I feel like a newcomer. I have two more action films lined up other than Rowdy Rathore: 'Once Upon a time in Mumbai sequel' and 'Special 26'.
Salman will do a cameo in `Ishkq In Paris`: Preity Zinta
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Priety Zinta, who is busy shooting for her debut production ‘Ishkq In Paris’, says good friend Salman Khan has agreed to do a cameo in her film.
The 37-year-old, who was last seen on the big screen in 2008 release ‘Heroes’, has also co-written the script of the movie, which is directed by Prem Raj. The film also stars French actress Isabelle Adjani.
"Salman will be a part of Ishkq In Paris & I am super, excited !!! Wait n watch people 4 all fun cuz for now my lips are sealed! I`ve co written it wid Prem Raj but its directed ONLY by Prem Raj(sic)," Zinta posted on her Twitter page.
Salman and Zinta`s friendship goes long back when they first met on the sets of 2000 release film ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’. They later went on to do films like ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’, ‘Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa’ and ‘Jaan-E-Mann’.
RGV shouldn't have remade 'Sholay': Javed Akhtar
Mumbai: Scriptwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who is upset with reports of a remake of 1973 super hit film 'Zanjeer', says they should only be made if they are better than the original.
"Any film can be remade provided that it is better that the original. If you are not making it good then where is the need of making it? Ram Gopal Varma remade 'Sholay'. He shouldn't have done that, but it is a free country...," the 67-year-old told reporters at the Vidhu Vinod Chopra film festival.
The 1973-hit 'Zanjeer', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Pran, was produced and directed by Prakash Mehra and his son Amit has decided to remake the action thriller.
A writer has the moral right over his work and changes cannot be made without his permission, Akhtar contended.
"There is something besides a copyright, about which no one talks and that is moral rights. It is not to be changed. If you buy an artist's painting and put it up in your house, you cannot change the content of the painting. The moral rights of the painting remains with the artist," he said.
"Similarly, if you have taken the script, the writer has the moral right over it. You cannot make changes in it without the writer's consent or permission," Ahktar added.
