Salman Khan confirms Kanchana remake!

It’s official.
Salman Khan will remake Lawrence’s Kanchana. a super hit bilingual in Tamil and Telugu.
Sohail Khan, Salman’s brother has said that their proposed Sher Khan, has been put on hold and instead they will be producing a horror-comedy.
Sources close to Raghavendra Lawrence who directed Kanchana said: “ Yes Salman Khan will do Kanchana in Hindi and may be in 3D with Sohail Khan directing it based on Lawrence’s script and screenplay.”
The shoot of the film will start once Salman completes Kabir Khan directed Yash Raj Films produced Ek Tha Tiger. The untitled remake of Kanchana will be Salman’s Eid 2012 release.

Although talks have been going on from long, it’s now official that Salman Khan will be remaking Raghava Lawrence’s ‘Kanchana’ in Hindi. The film tasted success in the Tamil and Telugu BO, especially at the B and C centers.
This was revealed by Salman Khan’s brother who revealed to the media that this remake will go on floors next for Salman. It is also said that the film might see a release in 3D, which seems to have become quite the fad of the day in Indian cinema.
This yet-to-be-titled venture will kick-start after Salman finishes work on ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.
However, unlike earlier reports that Raghava Lawrence would direct the project in Hindi, it looks like Sohail Khan will wield the megaphone.
‘Kanchana’ is a supernatural thriller that has many twists to its plot, with two main characters, the protagonist and the spirit. It’s not just another gory horror movie but has a strong social message to it which was well-accepted in the south; we’ll have to wait to know if the magic will repeat in Hindi as well.

B-town Dabangg Khan Salman Khan has changed the mathematics in the Bollywood box office. Now the phenomenon called Salman is likely to redefine the mantra of branding on the small tube.
Our highly placed sources from the international English Channel which is doing well in India share (on condition of anonymity) that Salman will be their brand ambassador and is likely to sign the deal once he returns to Mumbai after going through the technical details.
The deal is said to be a whooping 100 crore for a period of three years.
After signing the deal Salman will spearhead a marathon promotional campaign in support of the channel in his capacity as the brand ambassador.

The actor who was in the Capital recently for the inauguration of the gym revealed that he considers John Abraham and Salman Khan as his role models and wants to have a body like them.
“It is 70 per cent diet and 30 per cent work out that works best for the body.
So I try and maintain the required balance. If you are fit and healthy, you will automatically feel good and happy, so for your well being and happiness it is always good to stay in shape,” said the actor flexing his muscles.
He was accompanied by his dad on the opening and was too choosy about subjects to talk and discuss at the event. He spoke a little about his forthcoming film Players, which is supposedly very much similar to Hollywood blockbuster The Italian Job and said, “I am really looking forward to its release and I promise that it will be a very exciting and entertaining to the audience as well.” And about other details, he just preferred to keep mum.
The other obvious questions that were asked from the actor was about his link-ups and subsequent fights with Asin, but he maintained that “all is well” between the two actors and they are still good friends and concentrate on their work rather than such rumours that keep coming every now and then.

Salman Khan is now Bollywood's top tax payer
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who just delivered the biggest box office grosser of all time with his latest film 'Bodyguard', has also trumped his rivals in the Hindi filmdom with a near threefold increase in tax payout.
Salman, who has had several run-ins with the law, paid Rs 5 crore in advance tax for the July-September quarter, Income Tax Department sources said today.
In the corresponding period last year, the actor had paid only Rs 2 crore in advance tax. The 45-year-old star has been delivering blockbusters by strategically coinciding their release with Eid for the past two years.
Salman's arch rival Shah Rukh Khan, who has not had any big releases in the recent past, saw his tax outgo remain flat at Rs 5 crore, the sources added.
Akshay Kumar, another big name in Bollywood, is also estimated to have paid Rs 5 crore in advance tax payments, up from Rs 4 crore, they said.
Actor-producer Aamir Khan, whose small-budgeted edgy movie 'Delhi Belly' released this quarter and was received well, saw a Rs 50 lakh rise in advance tax outgo at Rs 4.5crore, they said.
New kid on the block Ranbir Kapoor's advance tax outgo stood at a flat Rs 2.5 crore, the sources said.
Advance tax payment is a system of staggered payment of income taxes so that high tax-paying individuals or firms do not pile up tax liabilities towards the end of the year. The payment for September quarter accounts for 30 per cent of the total collection payout for an individual or company.
In the first quarter it is 15 per cent, followed by 30 per cent each in the next two and 25 per cent in the fourth quarter.

Be it an Aamir Khan or a Shah Rukh Khan, a Hrithik Roshan, a John Abraham or an Abhishek Bachchan, or for that matter an Akshay Kumar, have at one point or the other during their filmy career have used kiss as a tool on the screen to convey and connote romance. Even Big B had to do it in the autumn of his career in BLACK. But Salman Khan is an exception, even though he has been involved in one of the most romantic moments that Hindi cinema has ever created to convey an emotion of romance, but he has never succumbed to the occasion. From MAINE PYAR KIYA to BODYGUARD Salman has never kissed on the screen. Could it be one of the reasons, why his fan following is legendary and it encompasses the base from childhood to adulthood and also includes in the category those who have turned grey as well.
Well, it seems to be case actually, and by following and adopting this as a mantra of his life, Salman Khan has followed in the footsteps of the romantics of the past, of the likes of Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor etc., who oozed romance and were romantic to the core but never used a kiss as a tool to convey romance on the screen. Even one of the greatest romantics of Hindi cinema Raj Kapoor, may have relied on the display vital body parts on the screen as a device of titillation, but never took the help of a kiss to convey romance.
Is it owing to the fact that kiss is considered to be a very private thing to be shared between two individuals and not to be shared on the silver screen. Well, the argument might sound arcane, but this has been the reality of Hindi cinema. Or is it a manifestation of the fact that romance has not been given precedence in the process of growing up and therefore kiss has never been considered a by-product to express and stem it, and Salman Khan has been inspired by this maxim. This being the maxim, lets recreate those moments in the films of Salman Khan where a kiss could have been a natural corollary in the manner in which the scene was developing:
MAINE PYAAR KIYA: The scene after the song: mere sawaalon ka jawab do between Salman Khan and Bhagyashree indeed was a perfect opportunity to have an on-screen kiss, and mind you it was way back in late eighties, and a new paradigm could have been created but Salman did not succumb to it.
HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN: Another romantic ballads of legendary proportions in which Salman paired opposite Madhuri Dixit had scores of opportunities to let a kiss be exchanged between them on the screen. Madhuri Dixit had already done on-screen kissing with Vinod Khanna in DAYAVAN and with Jackie Shroff in VARDI, but Salman never succumbed to the temptation.
KHAMOSHI: The song on the light house bahon ke darmiyan had all the sensuality and sexuality that an occasion demanded, cascading rain, a young couple and the loneliness of the lighthouse, but kiss did not materialize though there was a tailor made opportunity for it.
HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM: Another romantic ballad by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which had romance oozing from all the frames, having two perfect occasions to have a kissing scene with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, one when he was professing love, and secondly when he meets her in Rome. Any other actor could have allowed the occasion to culminate into a kiss but not Salman Khan.
MARIGOLD: AN ADVENTURE IN INDIA: Even in this Hollywood film, Salman did not kiss her female counter part though here was a film where he falls in love with a girl who has come from a developed country.
Salman has proved it again and again through his films that for him kiss is not a tool to attain success, though he had an opportunity to do it in BODYGUARD as well.
After all, Kareena Kapoor had done it with aplomb in 3 IDIOTS, and with the kind of market that he commands Salman Khan can always dictate terms, but it seems kiss is not a tool in his lexicon to express romance on the screen. Question is should his ilk prosper, or the other way round?
