2011 has been a Salman Khan year in Bollywood. With blockbusters like `Ready` and `Bodyguard` to his credit, the superstar turned out to be one of the most talked about celebs in the field of entertainment. And TV reality show `Bigg Boss 5` acted as an icing on cake for the diehard fans of this `Dabangg` star.
`Bodyguard` did brisk business on the day of release and became the highest opening day grosser as well as the biggest grosser ever for a single day until then. With a collection of 229 crore (US$46.44 million) worldwide, `Bodyguard` holds the record of Bollywood`s second highest-grossing film ever.
`Ready` grossed over 121,25,00,000 and has become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. Both `Ready ` and `Bodyguard` raked in the moolah with back-to-back business of Rs 100 crore and plus.
And not to forget Salman’s stint in the fifth season of TV reality show `Bigg Boss`. He was roped in to co-host the show with Sanjay Dutt and his name alone helped producers garner decent TRPs.

The 45-year-old looked seriously stylish in a Grey suit with black buttoned down shirt sans tie. He sported a short crop of cranial foliage, probably from his makeover in Ek Tha Tiger, in which he plays a RAW agent.
Salman readily posed on the red carpet for photogs and interacted with the media.

Kareena, 31, won the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actress in a Leading Role Award for Bodyguard, sharing the honor with Vidya Balan for her role in The Dirty Picture.
Kareena’s Bodyguard co-star Salman Khan also bagged an award for his role in the film. He shared the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actor in a Leading Role Award with Ranbir Kapoor for his role in Rockstar. Though Salman attended the event as a performer, he let Kareena receive the award on his behalf; he doesn’t accept awards as a matter of principle.
Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Jaqueline Fernandez were amidst the performers. South star Dhanush debuted a live performance of Kolaveri Di.
The show, hosted by Shreyas Talpade and Irrfan Khan, is scheduled to air on STAR Plus on New Year’s Eve.
